Absolutely. I’ve previously early-entried Hagrid’s at the front of the crowd by arriving at the parking garage smack at 7 am. This time I foolishly thought I could show up closer to rope drop because school’s in. I arrived to find the entire resort hotel population in front of me.

Hagrid’s is just the right intensity level for me: Greater than Big Thunder, less than Hulk. I rode Velocicoaster once. I’m glad I did. I’ll probably not ride that one again at my age. 😄 And as a Potter fan, I love how Hagrid’s so completely gets the personality of its namesake right and uses his well-intentioned-but-dangerous teaching ideas as the driving force of the plot. :D

I have seen those crazy morning lines for the park in the past for Islands in the past. I do think the best strategy, for a full day, is to start with Marvel followrd by a soaking in the water rides dry up in Seuss Landing, Lost Continent enjoy a sit down and then the last four rides of the park should be more manageable

For Halloween Horror Nights this year, it sounds like the Terror Tram will have a grand finale. After being dropped off to navigate pass monsters with bats and chainsaws, you walk pass the Psycho house and the War of the Worlds set. After getting back on the tram, they take you to Jupiter's Claim where clones with red jump suits and scissors attack the tram. It's a mix of Nope and Us.

This paired with Hogsmeade being open for the first time makes me a bit sad I'm not attending this year. Though it would be a bit disappointing to not have guest walk through Jupiter's Claim like they did during its previews.

Hogsmeade was open last year, they had a projection on Hogwarts castle as well. They're just expanding it this year.

I use to hate Universal Studios Hollywood but they’ve done a great job improving every aspect of that theme park except obtaining more land. I wish the owners of that golf course would see them the land. I’d still rank it behind DCA still. Looking forward to the new Mario ride and once again getting an annual pass after letting it expire last month.

Yeah ush is in a weird spot. It would.be damn near impossible to add another park, just adding new lands is tough, but it's stuck as a 1 park resort prob forever. If they got rid of tram tour they could build another park, but getting rid of tram tour would be a disaster

So, funny story that took place at that golf course. My uncle who was born in Sicily and has been here since he was 8 with zero accent likes to pretend he’s fresh off the boat Italian with broken English when he runs into actors. Not sure why. I think its partly to inflate their ego that someone half way around the world is a huge fan/ recognizes them and partly to say “hey I’m Italian too.”

On this particular day at the golf course the victim was Joe Pesci. So my uncle does his spiel in Fresh off the Boat Italian/ broken English … “ O my Gah, Signor Pesci Een Eatalee we lowveh U.” So eventually Joe asks, “how long have you been in this country?” My uncle says since 1978. And Joe Pesci (in his classic Joe Pesci voice straight out of Goodfellas) goes “and ya still got a fu*kin accent!?”

Pesci got him.

The tram has gotten shorter as new soundstages are built everywhere on the backlot. There were plans to expand the theme park to the remaining backlot and remove the tram. It would be a huge loss. They even came up with plan to make the tram a vip experience only.

Did HHN last Saturday. I had a great time. However the place was packed. We only did four out of eight mazes. The Weekend constantly had 100+ minutes. We were able to do the Weekend, Killer Klowns, Legends Collide and Universal Hotel. Universal Hotel was in the old Walking Dead building. It had the shortest wait and might be a permanent maze. I wish they would have made queue look more like an old hotel than just blank white walls with movies projected on it. Killer Klowns was very true to the movie but not very scary. The Weekend had plenty of loud music and had scenes that didn't really make sense. It reminded me of Hellraiser with lots of people without skin in bandages. Legends Collide with the Mummy, Dracula and the Wolfman was amazing and scary at times. I think that was the best maze.

I got in early and rode the tram to see Jupiter's Claim from Nope. The Terror Tram drops you off right before the Bates motel. You run a gauntlet of clowns and up at the War of the Worlds set and finally at Nope. It's a long walk uphill but fun because you are walking the backlot.

The problem with the night was the Express pass was always given priority over the regular line. If someone showed up, they walked on and only 2-4 couples from the regular line got in. The ratios were a good 40 to 1 or if someone was in Express, they walked in. The Express people only had to wait for the RIP tour groups who pushed their way to front. I'm surprised how much Express pass cost. It was close to $100 extra and a lot of people paid it! RIP was closer to $400 but included dinner, pictures and special backlot tour.

For the most part, the mazes are really toned down over previous years. I saw lots of families with little kids there. The food wasn't much different from regular day time. The Harry Potter Death Eaters scare zone was pretty good. They did projections on the castle. The park music was fast techno party stuff. The French area had a 20ft tall crow walking over the crowds.

I think going on weekday and earlier during the season helps with the crowds. You get less families and more college age kids that can't afford $100 for Express.
