Showtime is shutting down as a separate operating unit and being absorbed into Paramount+. The linear networks will now be known as "Paramount+ with Showtime" and the standalone Showtime app will be discontinued and absorbed into the Paramount+ app.

Paramount+ is super underrated but it drives me insane that I can't upgrade my free (with Walmart+, which is free with one of my credit cards) subscription to the ad free version.

Disney immediately made all the content creators, including linear, to work together. It's not totally fully integrated, but there's no stupid high wall separating them all. E.g., there was no reason that all of Disney channels and ABC and FX back catalog couldn't immediately go to streaming.
