All the old animantronics what do they do with it all

I was just thinking about all the old rides of disneyworld epcot and mgm.And what in the world they do with all the old animantronics and props.I would think they would either store them all up in some huge warehouse or trash some of them.It sure would be awesome bidding on some of the animantronics and props from horizons on ebay.Maybe in the future disney really will make a 5th themepark and it would include all the old rides in there like someone mentioned in one of the posts on this messageboard.The one prop I would love to have from horizons would be the moon that looks through the scope and at you.Sure that moon guy may have seemed a little scary but funney also.So let me ask you all this if you could have one prop or animantronic from any of the old rides which would it be and why.

Rob I saw some pics on this sight of the ride vehicles from horizons going down the highway. Do you know if they kept those or trashed them?

Why in the world would they trash all the horzions animantronics they were all in working conditons.You mean to tell me every single animantronic from horizons got destroyed now that is a real shame.

Rob, maybe you can confirm thisfor me, I heard a rumor a long time ago that all the animatronics from World of Motion WERE saved in a warehouse somewhere. Any truth to this?

But the Horizons' cast found their way to a dumpster one by one. I'm sure some were recycled, but most were thrown out.

Horizons apparently had an indenticle operations console to that of UoE, but those were also thrown out instead of being saved for spare parts.

What about the 20'000 leagues under the sea animantronics do you know what they did with them robfl.I am still shocked that they would destroy all the horizons animantronics they were cool animantronics and they just threw them all out sheesh.

Actually, a lot of them get recycled. Most of the figures in Spaceship Earth are redressed presidents from the Hall of Presidents! You can find several sites that identify which of our Chief Executives got reused.

How could they still be recycled when they're still in use?

Most animatronics get reused... or taken apart and reused in other ways. They are extremely expensive, they just don't throw them in dumpsters.

Remember they have 10 parks now, with 2 more opening in China.

The molds for the heads and faces of the hall of preseidents were reused for the SE characters.

And yes, most of Horizons was thrown in a dumpster.

I would love to have a copy of the Captain EO movie print. Also, I would like to have that gigantic painted mural from the exit hall of Horizons. Maybe, even the Dreamfinder from Journey Into Imagination.

I know at DL they added several figures to the existing ones.

The Figment AAs were reused in the new attraction.

Dreamfinder's in storage, and his face has been replicated for a Disneyland Paris attraction. (Pirates I believe).

Bonnie Appetit was spotted in a dressing room for a few years, later removed. The Salsa, Mayo, and Bananas were spotted in the Haunted Mansion storage area.

America Sings AAs were reused in Splash Mountain, the weasels are in our Splash Mountain. Several are also used in Imagineering as training tests.

Last month they were selling the propellers and portholes on ebay. Some of them were shipped to Castaway Cay, some were dumped into the ocean to make a coral reef (don't ask me where, I don't know!). That sounds creepy...go scuba diving and find one submerged on the floor of a reef. wow.

I would love to see this attraction resurface, but it seems like an impossibility. I'd have to go to Tokyo Disneyseas and see the "dry version" of the ride.
