Has anyone stayed at the All Stars Movies Resort yet? Thoughts, feelings? Is it a pain in the butt to get to the parks from this hotel? If you pay the extra$$$ for the "preferred" rooms, do you automatically get a Fantasia room?

Hey! I have stayed at all star music, sports and movies! All 3 are great, but i loved Movies the best!
Whichever room you are in theres a great view, the food court is great - plenty of variety, also its easy getting to and from the parks using the WDW buses!

I have stayed at All star movies 3 times and july will be my 4th ive staye dat sports too i like both of them a lot but prefer movies it has that real disney feel to it! Its enjoyable. toy story is a good section so is dalmations, if you can spare the extra 10 per night i love the fantasia rooms :) make sure you walk around the whoooole resort one night and one time during the day its wonderful! congratulations and good choice!

Stayed there a few times, of the All Star resorts I like it the best (it's the newest). Basic accomadations, but if you're at the World you're probably not there to sit in the room! As for transportation- not hard to get to the parks, they run a lot of buses for the All Stars, getting back from the parks at closing is the hardest but that will be the same for every resort.

Pro's:
Even though it is cheaper, it still has the Disney Magic
Two Nice Pools
Room was adequate for 4 of us

Con's:
Food Court had same food on menu EVERY SINGLE DAY. At the end of the 14 nights, we were sick of it
Mighty Duck's Building seemed a long walk from the main one

I can't comment on the transportation, as we had a rental car :)

If you were to stay at an All Star resort I would personally reccomend the Sports because it's the first place the busses stop so you will have first dibs on the seats and it also is the first place it stops when unloading also! c

Ditto We have stayed at All Stars 4 times (3 at Sports and 1 at Movies) Sports is our favorite, and being the first bus stop is a bonus.

All our buses were only for the Movies resort? (This was a few years ago mind you! Where's Invero? )

I believe that Disney will add and subtract busses from that route depending on guest volume for instance early in the morning you will probably wind up with each of the 3 all stars having their own bus after the morning rush the busses will be cut back to 1 bus servicing all 3.

Stayed at Movies once. Would stay their again anytime. I also would recommend walking around the entire resort to see everything. In my opinion a stay at the Movies is not a bad choice.

Yes you get the Fantasia buildings. The resort is spread out. So it is nice after a long day at parks.

We've stayed there twice, it's our favorite Value resort. We stayed at Pop in August and it didn't have the same Disney feel that ASMo does. We may go back in Sept., but we've since gotten spoiled by the Wilderness Lodge, so not sure yet.
Also, last time we stayed, Toy Story, Dalmations and Fantasia were all preferred.

We've stayed at the all star movies, and we find the best place is the dalmation resort area, especially if you can get the corner near the entry to the parking lot drop off. That way you can cut right across to the bus stops and not have to walk around the pool. It's also quiet in that area.

All Star Movies gets my family's vote as the #1 value resort.
The resort itself is very symetrical compared to Pop Century and All Star Music so your not going do too much walking.

Preffered rooms are nice, but you can get almost as close as the preffered rooms if you request the Toy Story or the 101 Dalmation bldgs.

We have stayed at all 3 all stars and pop. we are going in May and will return to Movies. Now we didn't pay the extra for a preferred room but the last time we stayed at Dalmations and our room was great. step out the door we could see the main pool and food court area. close to everything. Toy Story would be the same. I am going to call disney back to check to see if they have made toy story and dalmation preferred as well because it was only Fantasia preferred. I'll let you know what I find out after I call!

We stayed at Movies and enjoyed it. We were in Toy Story and did not pay extra and were very close to everything. I would request that section again. (we stayed in JAN 05). We did not use the busses.I like to drive from the values...I HATE crowded busses at night....much easier to drive for us.

I have to say that I prefer Pop to AllStars but there is nothing bad about AllStars.

Fantasia buildings are the only preferred.

Love Bug and Mighty Ducks are 7 minutes max from Cinema Hall depending on the speed you walk.

Yeah, Turkey's right. I called this morning and checked, Fantasia is still the only preferred building. We are keeping fingers crossed for Toy Story this time. We swear by the buses. Although every time we have stayed at the all stars we have never shared a bus w/other resorts. I must note though that we tend to go early in the am and leave at closing time. we may wait about 10+ minutes or so for a bus back to the resort, but with the number of people they accomodate you must expect a bit of a wait, and compared to the grand scheme of things 10 minutes or so isn't bad. Heck you wait an hour for parades / fireworks/ fantasmic so for us its no big deal. And we did this w/ group of 12 including 6 kids.

We don't like the preferred rooms - they are too close to all the noise! :)

We've stayed at Sports twice (soon to be three times) and Movies twice, and a PC stay thrown in as well. We like finding the buildings that are preferrable to us, and request those buildings. And no, I won't tell you which ones! We loved the Buzz building, but on our last trip we were in the Mighty Ducks (bldg 2) at Movies. Not great, we couldn't have been much further away from the main building. We like being close, but not too close. ;)
