The Suites at Disney All Star Music did not open today as planned.

Apparently, they're not finished. Guests with reservations are being offer either 2 regular rooms, an "upgrade" to Fort Wilderness cabins, or a full refund.

Deb Wills from AllEars was one of those turned away. www.wdwig.com for more details on her experience.

I, like Deb Wills, find it very hard to believe that they did not know the suites wouldn't be ready. I can understand a delay in construction, but they had to know ahead of time. That was so undisney-like for them not to notify her until the very last minute. They should offer a better upgrade.

Who wants to call and find out if they're still accepting reservations for the next few days, prior to the new Wednesday opening?

I'm guessing that most of us on this board belong to AllEars as well? Any input from anyone.....

REALLY!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow!!! And I thought they were just being overly cautious when I was told that the rooms were not ready to be shown when I was there about a week and a half prior to the opening date!!!! I had gone to the resort hoping to see one and get some pictures and information as I Am a travel agent but I was politely told they rooms werent " ready" but I wasnt sure what they meant!!! Thanks for the information Mousermerf. Belle

I work at All Star and from the sound of the information I'm getting it may take another week. Today they were still putting the new furnishings in the rooms.

I agree. I would think that even the slightest chance of the suites not being ready on time would justify notifying guests. How could they not know ahead of time??? There must be some great lack of communication between the construction contractor and hotel management. They should have received a deluxe upgrade for their trouble and inconvenience. I don't consider the Fort Wilderness Cabins adequate compensation.

That could definitely screw up someone's vacation. Many families of 5 could be upgraded to Alligator Bayou section of PO:R, but families of 6 would have few options, particularly if the age ranges are such that parents really wouldn't kids in a room with its own exit.

I'd be hoping a DVC villa were open for those families, if I were Disney management.

Boy, you'd think Deb Wills would have as much cachet as Unofficial Guide!! Congrats on the upgrade - that seems like an appropriate way to deal with the problem.

So, does your team get to stay extra days to see if the suites open on Wednesday?

While I understand construction delays do happen, I hardly consider it an "upgrade" to the Ft. Wilderness Cabins. Having CM's so uninformed is really "bad form" and makes disney look like unorganized amatuers, which they are hardly.
