In all honesty, they are all the same. POP is the best though (only because it is newer). I kinda prefer MUSIC - POP is HUGE, MUSIC is the perfect size. Avoid Sports.

Pop has it's own buses while the All Stars buses all share the same route. Music also has family suites if that is something you are considering.

Don't just decide on the bus issues, we have stayed at both Pop and ASMu several times each and very, very rarely did we have to share a bus with the other all stars. It usually only happens during the middle of the day. ASMu has better developed landscaping around it so it feels more "resortish" to us. You can all get a family suite at ASMu that you can't at other values. This has a livingroom area with 3 pull out sleepers, two baths, a QB bedroom, and kitchenette. Different feels to the resorts -- on WDW property -- all good!

We have stayed at all of the all stars except movies. The only person whos really big on sports in my family is my sister but we still decided to give the resort a try and it wasn't too bad. we enjoyed the bright colors and the pools were never as crowed as lets say the hippade dippade pool at pop. but that could have just been the time we went. When we checked out, a HUGE group of cheerleaders checked in and people were complaining. Sports gets the most "groups".

Music was also nice. we stayed here 2 years ago in the broadway section(its in the back like a 5 minute walk to the food court) the nice thing about this one was the set-up. it was small and everything was pretty close to you. They also had someone running games for the kids to do by the pool during the day. they also have movies playing by the pool everynight.

Pop even though you didn't ask for this one im still going to compare. Pop is the biggest of all values and is very spread out. however, it is the newest. We find the busses here aren't too good but its not really disney's fault, its just because their are more people going on the busses. some of the rooms are newly renovated. it has 3 pools which we enjoyed because there is always one that isn't really packed. the food court is also better, there is more room and more tables but it still gets crowded at main meal times.

I prefer the food court at Pop to the All Stars ones. Also Pop's rooms are currently being renovated so it will have the newest value rooms again.

While the it is true that all three All-Star resorts share busses, and Pop has it's own that is a bit misleading. Pop is about twice the size of any single All-Star. So you will be sharing the single stop with more people and may have to walk much farther to get to the bus stop or amenities depending on where your room is located with-in the resort. WDW also runs busses for each of the All-Stars individually during peak times.

If you chose the All-Stars when you get your room look at a map, because you might actually be physically closer to a different resort's bus stop. It can save you some steps.

Which sections or buildings have been refurb? And what sections are they currently working on? Just wanted to know so I know what to request!

To answer the original question, all three All Stars are mostly the same, barring the decorations. The main building of Movies is laid out a little differently than Sports and Music, because it was built much later than the first two resorts. The differences aren't significant, however.

As for the bus issue...The All Star Resorts do not share buses except in non peak times. During morning rush and park closing each resort has dedicated buses. Because the individual resorts are smaller than Pop Century the net effect is less crowded buses and shorter lines to board.

The All Star's were recently renovated and are really looking great. The room decor is a little more classy now and the rooms have always been spotlessly clean in my stays.

Honestly? I don't think there is much of a difference, except that the All Star Movies hasn't had its rooms redone in quite a while, while the other All Stars have.

I have stayed at both Sports and Music, and I don't think you could go wrong with either one. I know people tend to shy away from the Sports, but the theme is not done in a bad way. The first section is Surf's Up, and is a ocean theme, done with lots of pretty greens and blues.

The Music does have one thing that the other Value resorts do not. And that is the fact that they show movies by the main pool at night at the All Star Music. Very cool.

Also, don't let the bus situation be the only reason you stay away from the All Stars. In my 3 stays at an All Star Resort, each resort had its own bus far more often than they shared.

I think you are going to find everyone has their own opinion of each of the AS resorts and POP. It just will depend on who you talk to and their experience at the resort.

Personally, I stayed at AS Sports 2 years ago and LOVED it! Last year I stayed at POP and I can honestly say it will be a long time before I attempt that again (lol!!!) It was absolutely HUGE, had lots of bus issues, "neighbor" issues...however, it was cool looking. Unfortunately, it looking cool couldn't help us at that point

This year we will attempt AS Movies as I've heard 90% good about it...but again depends on who you talk to - I figure we'll keep experimenting until we try them all!:ROFLOL:

As someone who stayed at the All Stars and Pop somewhat exclusively for the past....oh....17 years (a few stays at The Swan and Dixie Landings but we're park people who don't care much about the hotel), I would very strongly say the following:

If you want to be at the parks and have the best bus service available, Pop is great. It is also much more centrally located and takes much less time to get to the MK, Epcot and DHS. The All Stars are closer to AK and Blizzard Beach. Pools are great, property is fun and relaxing and best of all, NO SPORTS TEAMS.

I would NEVER recommend Sports, as that's where all the sports teams and many tourist groups and teenagers stay. Movies is the best for kids.

Music, personally, is my favorite. If you DO end up sharing busses, you're the second stop, which is much better trade off than being stuck at a hotel with inconsiderate tweens and teens. The theming of Music is wonderful and has a lot of that "Disney magic" you mentioned before :animwink:. All in all, in my opinion, Pop is the best, followed by Music, then Movie. Good luck choosing!

We stayed at ASSports in 1998-actually went the last weekend of July-first week of Aug and it was great! If there were groups, we didn't notice.

I loved the food court area near the pool. It was great to come in, get a snack and go out to the pool area. Our rooms were very clean, and I have a memory of being impressed with this resort. Certainly, a small amt of time was spent there, but still it was a pleasant place to stay.

I don't remember that we had bus problems at the AS's. As a matter of fact, on one occasion two busses for MK arrived together to transport guests.

I have stayed at Music mostly and like the themes they used. I stayed at Sports 1 time and just prefer not to do that again. Apparently it was a very busy time so it was teenages EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!! They took up the whole pool area (the baseball area is where we were put) so we had to go to the Surf section in order to be around a bit quieter/less rowdy people with our very young son. Also our room had peanut shells on the floor in the bathroom at check-in, (which had our child been allergic we could have had a huge issue) I never had issues with the buses while staying at Music, last year we did stop at Sports most of the time, but never stopped at Movies if we were already full, the driver would ask if anyone needed to go to Movies before even attempting it.

I will be staying at Movies in Sept for the first time. We stayed at Pop soon after the opened as well, it was great themes throughout, we were told we were going to be in a 70s building but all the room themes showed 80s on it. We used the computer pool, although it was quite cold even though suppose to be heated. We would shortcut through the building across from us and walk down the sidewalk a little to the buses.

When I was booking my trip, the All Stars were coming in cheaper, than of course as always happens, right after I booked the price dropped on Pop, but it was only by $1.
