The theming for all star movies is great for little kids. Giant dalmations, Buzz Lightyear, Woody, ect. My kids loved it. We chose which section by what they were most into at the time which was dalmations. It was a good location, between two pools and close to the food court.

Have fun!

I agree with Disneyfalcon, we stayed at All Star Movies Dalmation Bldgs. Close to everything and the theme was great. This year we are in debate of Movies vs. Pop Century. We still haven't made up our mind yet. We love Movies but my sister and one nephew are anxious to stay at the new Pop Century perhaps the 50's Bldg if possible. any advice from those who have stayed at Pop Century?

If I were going to dtay in a Value Resort this year, I'd choose Pop Century.

1. The buildings are closer to the food court, main lobby, etc.
2. It's new, so will have less wear and tear.
3. I've heard that they have surrey bikes for rent. ;) (We enjoy renting them at The Boardwalk)
4. The most important reason:

One of my favorite kids works there!!! :sohappy:

We stayed at All Star Movies last time and it was great. So we decided that we are staying there again. The icons are great, my daughter was in awe of them.

bears163..........when you stay there make sure to do a wake up call and let the kids answer it. It's Mickey telling you it's time to get up. My daughter just loved that. It was a small but wonderful part of our trip.;)

Our past three trips we have stayed at All Stars and really debated trying the Pop Century this trip. Even though it is newer, I think we are going to return to All Star Sports because I have read some reviews that were less than complimentary about PC--mainly about it being louder. Pizza delivery trucks come during the night and depending on where you stay, you might hear them a lot. As far as the room, they are the same size wise, and we are only there when the parks are not open. So when I am there and want to sleep, I don't to hear delivery trucks. In addition some comments were made that the bus system did not seem as good as All Stars.

We booking our October trip today and and I think we'll go with what we know best---All Stars.

David we are in the same boat. My brother & his family are now going to join us on this trip and they have never stayed onsite. We have always been happy at the all stars and like you we are only at the resort when the parks are closed. The kids really loved it at Movies in '02. But some of the kids want to try PC. I think though, we might go w/ Movies and then visit PC so we'll know what to expect. Weve been all star guests since '95 and have had no complaints about anything, food courts, bus service, cleanliness etc. But then again, we aren't big resorters, we are big park visitors!

Dalmations #1. It is as close to everything as the perferred buildings which cost $10 more a night.

I do the third floor because I don't want to hear people above me. But if you want your kids to run out the door and jump in the pool you may want the first floor.

I've done Movies three of the last four trips (Music the other). I never waited more than 15 minutes for a bus and the walk to the food court or bus from Big Puppy #1 is less than 5 minutes.

I have found Movies and Music to be very clean. I think they have super CM's working there who take pride in their work. Newer does not always mean cleaner.

Another thing to take in to consideration for some is the fact that high school groups tend to stay in the All Star Resorts. When i was in HS, our marching band stayed in the Music section, and we were most likely considerably loud to the rest of the families staying there. Also, I know other HS groups stay at the All Stars such as choirs, cheerleaders, etc, and they might be so rowdy, they ruin your stay.

I know your going in Sept (when they really don't take field trips yet) but this fact alone would make me stay in PC. (now that I am older and wiser....lol)

On our last trip we were in Fantasia building 8. The pool was right outside our door and from there it's a short walk to the food court and buses. I think we may have waited 10-15 mins. for a bus, which wasn't bad at all. So this year we have already made our reservations for the All Star Movies. Can't wait!!!!!:sohappy:

Just some notes:

Groups tend to stay at Sports and Music no matter what type of group they are.

Some also manage to find their way to Carribean Beach and Port Orleans.

While most CM's will try to be accomidating placing you in a specific building, there are no guarantees about building placement except if you are paying for a preferred.

There are no guarantees about floor/smoking/pool rooms. Only if you have sent in medical forms for a non-smoking/ground floor, SHOULD YOU BE GUARANTEED.

"On our last trip we were in Fantasia building 8."

Fantasia will cost you $10 more a night than Dalmations and is no closer to the bus stop or food court. It is one minute closer to the pool. To me that is not worth $10 a night. Plus people are still in the pool making noise at 11 and later.

While I agree with you about no guarantees September should not be a real problem getting what one wants. Summer and holidays would be much more iffy. Although I have been lucky during my stays including New Years.

My last four trips were two in late Dec/New Years, one May and one September. I got non-smoking, floor and building requests and in the room prior to noon all four times
:D

I chat with the CM checking me in, smile, ask nicely-not demand and they spend the time searching for what I ask for. The worst I have done is second floor in Dalmations once instead of third.:)
