All Star Music or Pop

So im offically returned from thw world one month its very sad and depressin especially with christmas and hectic work schedule looming on the horizon. (i work in retail, Christmas is a nightmare in my job) anyway, the plan was to take a break from holidays in walt disney world and take the money saved and puchase a house and be a grown up, but heck i've years ahead of me to be mature and responisble.

So ive decided to revisit for 10 days next year, Oct 1- Oct 10 and bring my folks, my neice and nephew with me, they just dont know yet, when i have it paid for im going to do the whole big surprise thing, (excited)

Ok on to the question, as im bearing the brunt of payment i can only really afford value resorts but im torn between connecting rooms at Pop or a family suite in All Star. we just stayed at Pop and the kids loved it, everyone did and as i've never stayed at any of thee All Stars i was wondering if anyone has any pro's or con's i should consider on both

We just got back from POP! and really liked it alot. Yes, the rooms are small and you can hear toilets flushing but we knew that going in so I really can't complain. Stayed in the 50's building #1 (the only 50;s preferred building I believe). Very close to the font desk and busses.

Have stayed at both previously. We prefer Pop for it's theme and the dedicated bus service.

I would do the joining rooms and not the suite. I just think its a better deal. I LOVE LOVE Music though but again im a little biased because I love to sing and my favorite place is Broadway at the music resort. But POP is very nice as well and the bus is better.

Its decided then, 2 rooms at Pop, Adjoining hopefully.

It makes more sense with the extra full size beds and the kids tend to accumulate alot over the holiday (im of the opinion of when they are at Disney with there Aunt they can have/get anything they want, i like to spoil them for 2 weeks out of the year) so extra floor space will come in handy too.

And im going to change the dates from the 28th or 29th to avail of free dining and upgrade to the deluxe dining package, that way i can spoil my mam and dad too.

Oh for it to be 180 days out so i can make my ADR's :slurp:

We've stayed at all 4 values, and frankly have crossed Pop off the list. It's the loudest place we've ever stayed, with the thinnest walls of any hotel I've ever been in. We could hear every conversation from the room next door, every toilet flush from the room above us, and every kid playing in the pool outside our door. Couldn't sleep the entire time we were there, and got frustrated with how crowded the foodcourt was at all times.

The bus service at the All Stars is superior to the one at Pop. Since you can walk to each of them, you have the choice of three different busses. At Pop, you've got one bus and one bus stop and hundreds of people trying to get on the same bus. We waited for over an hour 1 night in line at the MK for a bus back to Pop. Never again!

As a previous poster pointed out, the "bus sharing" at the All Stars depends on how crowded the busses are and what time of day. There is always a CM at the All Star bus stops who is radio'ing for more busses when it is necessary. We've never had a problem with transportation at the All Stars.

Sports is our least-favorite of the All Stars, because may sports/ cheerleading groups stay there. It can also get noisy. Movies is popular, and very nice, but Music is by far the best of the values. They are the only value that has movies at the pool at night, they have a great layout, the best pools of the values, and are within walking distance of the other two All Stars, so that gives you plenty of options for transportation. And with the layout of Music and Movies, most of the sections are very quiet. We've always had a room away from the pools that was peaceful and quiet.

So, Music and Movies are our favorite values, and we'd stay at Sports only if we had to. We won't stay at Pop again because we have much better choices at the All Stars. Since you've only experienced Pop, you should give Movies or Music a try and see for yourself why they are better.
