Pre-Trip All-aboard! Yacht Club in July '17.

Since 2007 our family tradition has been to go to WDW every two years. The tradition almost died in 2015 but 3 out of 5 of us saved it with a day trip. This year, with the help of a convention, we are going to the Yacht Club in July!

The Specifics (so far). I am a member of AHEPA which is like a Greek Knights of Columbus. A terrific organization that raises money for scholarships and good deeds in our community.
The AHEPA national convention this year is at WDW and they managed to secure a terrific group rate. So good in fact that I was able to convince my "not so much loving Disney" wife to agree to a trip! We've stayed at the Beach Club twice but never the Yacht Club. I'm beyond excited. We will be checking in Tues July 24th and leaving Sun the 30th.

The Players. The saddest thing about this trip will be the absence of my oldest daughter Alexandra. She graduated from College last year and is now enrolled in an accelerated nursing program. Her schedule just won't allow here to get away. I'm sure she'll be there for the 2019 trip!

Who is going -

Myself (Chris). Disney lover trying desperately to cling to a family with 3 children that is now in reality 2 adults and a teenager. Photography enthusiast hungry for more Disney photos. Head planner and decision maker (which often leads to getting myself in trouble).

My lovely wife (Val). Those that read my other reports will not be surprised to know that Val will be the least excited to be on our trip. I think her exact words were "I'm not going to Disney again, and especially not in the *$%##@ middle of Summer!" Considerable compromises and sacrifices were made to get her to say yes. Here is a picture of the two of us from last summer. I'm not nearly as tan now as then but hopefully will be by our trip.

Sterg - My 20 year old son will be with us this time. He missed our 2015 trip to Clearwater that included the one day at WDW. He's a sophomore at Penn State studying in the field of IT and on the swim team. He will be the source of much entertainment and laughs; if I don't kill him first. Here he is in the pool. Notice the shaved eyebrow; evidence of a bet that didn't go his way.

Toni - When my last teenager isn't wrapping me around her little finger, she is busy with schoolwork and more dance classes than Mikhail Baryshnikov. Toni loves Disney as much as I do and we are usually the only members of the early morning Park contingency. Here she is holding our dog Prince.

:hilarious: You already have subscribers with no content. I would say your doing fairly well.

lol! Wait, I need actual content?

@fractal , you must be just basking in the glory of fractal jr., knowing that his college education has prepared him for great accomplishments like The Fractal Channel. All the sacrifices and all the money spent on his education, are now paying big dividends!! :joyfull:

There is a lesson in everything. For example, we are currently learning that coming up with great ideas is a lot easier than executing on said ideas.

Okay I did my part and subscribed to your channel so now please do your part and upload an amazing Disney video.

Thanks! We actually made an episode but I didn't like it at all - took an entirely different (but more complex) approach that is currently in progress. Good thing I have all this free time on my hands.

Ah yes - recitals
The opportunity to witness the fruits of your offsprings labours for about 3-5 min and then watch other kids who you really do not give a hoot about.
Be them dance or music they are a wonderful activity to participate in .......
I am glad that I am past (most) of them.

So bwahahah!!!! :hilarious::hilarious: Ending hilarious. Beautiful hydrangeas on the table. Like how Sterg leaves every light in the house on like a Boss.
I think you have the start of something good here. Just do some camera reviews have your kids do some toy unboxing videos and 5 million views later you can quit you day job.

Hi @fractal , Happy to know your family tradition is alive and well, I hope you have fun with it taking on new dimensions as your family changes and grows. We have been changing and re shaping our trips to The World as our brood has changed, for over 30 years now, and wouldn't have it any other way!!
We are" D" minus 2 days till we are Home at SSR on July 17 - 21. Perhaps we'll bump into you all in the Parks.
I am a retired R.N. from over 25 years and send my sincere congrats to you/DW, and especially your daughter on her acceptance into Nursing School. I hope she enjoys her studies and finds much satisfaction in her chosen field.
Sprinkle a little pixie dust on your day!!

My favorite part was how Toni's hair magically transformed into a bun when she left the kitchen and went outside! :p

Disney magic!

LOVE IT!! We all know your wife isn't the biggest fan so that makes the ending that much more hilarious.

That was one of the few times acting was not needed.

Love it that my teenaged daughter's room isn't the only one that looks like Sterg's:hilarious::hilarious:

Can't wait to see the next installment!

It was a bit exaggerated but he's gotten too used to living in a dorm room.

Love it!!!!

Thanks!

Serg (aka, Fractal Jr.) wins the Good Housekeeping Award! :p

What stood out in the video was just how much food was in your refrigerator. Mine is usually close to barren, but I guess that's because I always eat it all?! o_O :joyfull:

Great first video--I could tell it was a team effort!

Thanks! @MinnieM123 It was a good day - food usually doesn't last too long around here.

Spectacular!!
Thanks! lol.

Love it! I subscribed. (Of course, Hope will probably unsubscribe me since she does that to all my YouTube channels. Perhaps if you include an episode featuring some Shopkins, she will allow it. lol)

Thank you @Figment Forever ! Unfortunately we are out of the Shopkins age group. :)

Everyone in this stinkin' house (except me) leaves the lights on. I'm just waiting to get asked why we don't drive an electric car to "save the environment".

Freaking incredible!! Lmao!! Go team Fractal!!
Thanks @littleroo ! This is more work than I thought.

Subscriber #42 :)
Thank you!

,

Unfortunately we will just miss you. :( We hit WDW on the 25th. Alex is actually graduating in early August and she recently accepted a job at Univ Pittsburgh Medical Center as a nurse. Music to my ears!
Have a wonderful trip!

Thank you everyone for following on Youtube. Not sure what's going to come of it, but I am working on a few episodes offering tips for beginner photographers and how to up your game at WDW (and overall).
Also planning to film a lot while at WDW - and of course take plenty of photos. I'm starting to really get excited!

First full episode is up!
Tips on shooting Fireworks...

8 days to go and I'm getting excited!

Some issues are popping up however to cause me some angst.

First - we haven't received our magic bands yet and the tracking number given is useless as it's not giving any update. We are leaving Thursday evening for Tampa so we don't have much time left.

Second - my Mom has been having some issues with her left knee. She's been to the doctor several times, including last week. His advise to her for our trip is to skip the parks and just stay at the resort!:eek:
Now we are trying to decide between getting a power scooter or wheelchair. I dread the scooter because of the whole issue with the buses, but my sister is pushing for that because it will also help at the hotel.

Third - Val's Dad recently helped someone with moving and hurt himself. He may need some sort of assistance!:eek::eek:

Looks like I'm going to have to really dial up my patience levels.
