Man I really wish I had taken advantage of this wondeful attraction while I had the chance. It seems like it was off the chain. I feel bad I never got to sieze the future.

Great. I see the beginnings of another "I hate Stitch" thread. Sorry, I will never understand why Alien Encounter is considered a better attraction. It was unnecessarily violent and had nothing in the way of a redeeming positive message for the future. In Stitch's Great Escape!, no one dies and Stitch actually does escape - a happy ending for him, and for those of us who are fans of the character. I know few on this board will agree with me on this, but I think Stitch was a vast improvement and is much more enjoyable to kids of all ages.
Still, I did enjoy Alien Encounter for what it was. S.I.R. and Skippy alone made it well worth going on. I just always found it a bit lacking during the actual show. I always left feeling like I should have exited after the S.I.R. and Skippy preshow. After seeing Stitch's Great Escape!, though, I feel a great improvement has been made, and I enjoy all parts of the show equally.
As for Tomorrowland, up to this point, I've been happy with the changes made. I can't say the Monsters Inc. idea sits well with me and I still mourn the loss of The Timekeeper (the best Circlevision film ever created), but overall I don't feel nearly as bad about it as I do about what has happened to EPCOT's Future World.

P.S. Thanks for the link. It is always fun to watch extinct Disney attractions again.

I neglected to mention if you really want to see a good version of this attraction, marni1971 is your man. I'm sure his video of it is available at Disney Central Torrents, and it's complete. The YouTube one is only the main show (and if you can't watch S.I.R. and Skippy then there's really no point). Hi Martin!

I miss AE. Stitch is okay but AE really offered something better. Stitch is a Disney character so I understand the change in that respect, but really, AE was more exciting, at least for me.:lookaroun

I don't hate Stitch...I loved the movie and the ride is OK. But you seem to say that Stitch is better because it's less scary, less violent (and what's up with "a redeeming positive message"? Come on). I would actually agree that it makes it a better fit for MK, but that doesn't make it a better attraction.

Anyway, my real point is that you say that you enjoy all parts of Stitch, and that's what makes it better than AE. That to me is crazy. Alien Encounter's set-up (before the SIR and Skippy pre-show) was much better. It was cleverly written and executed--I still use the "profit is a by-product we've learned to live with" line. The setup to Stitch makes no sense (we've been taken off the streets to become prison officers? Huh?) and is executed with unremarkable animation. It feels cheap. The pre-show itself, which was once chilling, now includes robotic potty humor.

The main attraction is a toss-up, I'd day. Stitch himself is wonderfully animated. I thought certain elements of AE were a letdown here (I never got a clear mental picture of what the alien was supposed to be doing when I was hearing various things). But it terms of the overall experience, AE is simply better designed than Stitch. With the latter, you can see the seams in their thinking...you can see how they were tasked with putting Stitch in a story while making the minimum changes to the attraction.

Is the voice of the woman in the begininng giving directions the same who did the voice of Mirage in The Incredibles?

Thanks for the video. R.I.P Alien Encounter.

I've yet gotten to see SGE but I saw the video of it doing a search on Google Video. So now having a better idea of it and having been to AE I can say that SGE is a better fit in TL than AE. There was a little one scared during the "blackout and was crying like crazy but I think I would have fun seeing it live.

If they were to bring it back, AE should go into Disney Studios.

Ah AE, my favorite attraction of all time. Thouh I prefer this vid better http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-2961121530350290312&q=tomorrowland While I do like the character of Stitch the attraction in my eyes is a failure for certain reasons.

Story- When it comes to Disney, you got to have a good story. Stitch has a muddled story with plot holes and a very anticlimatic ending. We all know we are not supposed to bring food on any attraction yet Stitch steals a chili dog from someone. We know this is a prequel of the movie yet Experiment 626 calls himself "Stitch".

The theme itself fitting in- A space prison center doesn't seem to fit as well as a intergalatic convention center.

Trying to pull off a "Family friendly" attraction with effects that cannot be "Family Friendly"- This is the major reason why this attraction fails. I know Disney was trying to make a kid friendly attraction but they should have known kids don't like the dark and surprises they can't see. I know this is a slight improvement of being more kid friendly but I find it worse. With AE the smart parents could tell by the name and warning signs that this was not for little kids. But with SGE they pull off the biggest deception of them all! Parents look at the sign and see Stitch, they know Stitch is NOT a scary character to their kids so they take them on. But once the lights go out and the effects go off and their kids start crying they begin thinking "HUH?!"
The worse part about it is they watered down the effects so much that the teens and adults do get a thrill or just about anything, but for the little kids it's way too much for them. Another thing is since the jokes aim for the little kids at a young height and that they raised the height requirement repeatedly most of the target audience can't go on. While the rest of the target audience goes on and gets the soul scared out of them while everyone else is bored.

I know there are a few that like SGE but they are in the minority. Just go over to Themeparkinsider and try to look for a positive review of SGE.

you sure do because it's partly sourced from disney-central ... erm mousebits  and made by a comunity member

Indeed... that`s dxwwf3`s video.

Googlevideo....same as YouTube....ARGH!

I`ve had my videos streamed without permission, posted incomplete, and posted with no credits. If you want the full quality versions (not the lame, lores YouTube or GoogleVideo compressed streams) go to MouseBits.com

Anyhow, popular concensus in the market world is YouTube at least won`t last much longer.
