I've been meaning to post this for a while since I noticed this way back, however I thought well maybe the database is still old considering it's the government and all, but now I have to wonder why Disney hasn't updated it with the FAA?

In the latest A/FD I just got today I thought I'd see if this is still there because I've been curious about it and indeed it is.

What lasers were/are on top of Alien Encounter/SGE?
Also, it's really strange seeing how the FAA put this under Orlando, Florida while Illuminations and Fantasmic are under Lake Buena Vista... I'm guessing this might be because MK is in Bay Lake?

And for those who are curious on what an A/FD even is, it's a book published once every 56 days with all the latest about airports.
Here's the cover:

This was probably lighting added with the 1994 land overhaul. Unfortunately it looks like a lot of those lighting effects have been disabled.

There are lasers in the attraction. The green ones that surround his cage before he escapes (kinda makes it look like a forcefield) and the red ones that shoot out of the guns.

P.S. lots of the effects were down a coupe weeks ago. Including the hotdog smell.

Right. But inside wouln't need an FAA notice. So at one point there must have been something outside the building? On the roof?

Lasers can be easily mistaken. Lasers arrant used just to write on walls or dance in the smoke. For example Spaceship Earth used to use lasers for the old ending. Lasers to me are a toy and even I have always mistaken them for fiber optics when riding Spaceship Earth. In a situation like that where both shows arrant mainly laser shows it can be easy to not even notice lasers being used.

Bingo. There is/was a laser installed on the roof of the AE building for effect purposes over the '94 Tomorrowland, but it was very rarely used.

From what I hear for quite a while it was an extra-cost option on the "menu" for after-hours private parties. I don't know if it's still listed or not, though.
