I kinda created the scenerio to build a new version of Alien Encounter due to the fact I was bored. I mean why would you want to rebuild an extinct attraction? I mean it was removed for a reason.
So, here is the reason for so in my Paradise Disney. Tommorowland had Stitch set up in an expansion area for a while but there was quite a large campaign to leave Tommorowland with no Franchises. This not only ment a change for the planned Buzz, but also a change for the planned Stitch. The Imagineers were also toying around with the Alien movie liscense but had to abandon that due to the campaign. Later though, through development and the fact that Milliways construction had started, it was decided to place in a Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Theme.
The question though is what 4D sound attaction could be built with a Sci-fi theme. There was also the fact that Alien Encounter was built with limitations not only from money and design time but just due to the fact of theatre size. Of course, it did cost much more money to redesign the planned building expansion but it was finally designed to use the whole space from the original tommorowland building all the way to Milliways at the far southern end of Tommorowland.
It also ment that the theatre had to be removed as well as an expansion of the peoplemover and rehab of Milliway's facade. All was done so. The actual ride system was also designed before the ride was so contruction could start early. The showrooms were too built to a new specification with no actual attraction designed yet. The new chamber will still use circular seating with the chambers themselves will now be 70 feet across.
Seating is composed of 5 rows of seats in a circle with the back row being 65 feet in diameter and the front row being 25 feet in diameter. In total, there are 458 seats in each theatre. (I calculated aisle space too). The shows were built to a 15:00 specification to where each new group will enter the theatre. The attraction still maintains a wonderful 3664 people per hour with the whole experience lasting 30 minutes.
The Building's outside looks cool and high-tech. Kinda with this look into the future as well as the past. The Color scheme includes dark shades of a blackish blue with bright color highlights and lines of livewire running hiddenly through the building giving it a very cool look. The entrance is also at the southern end of Tommorowland next to Milliways. (To have a truely scary attraction, you have to keep the attraction away from where most of the kids and parents will be traveling).
Still claimed project "alien encounter", it was decided to take the original Alien Encounter story and rework it to a compeltly new experience meaning everything for the attraction would be refilmed, rewritten, redesigned, remade, and so forth created a note quite completly new experience for those who have been to Disneyworld.
A sloping curved stone separates Milliways and Alien Encounter (as well as a gate used for CM and oother Behind the scenes access). Guests will walk around a large high-tech looking object with the attraction sign (with terror in bright red). At the bottom, a sinister electrical device comes out of the ground and slowly rises above. At the level of the TTA, it fans out to a silver bowl like thing and above that it looks like a communication tower that is very bright at night and somehow looks sinister. (and yet warrents the crowds to still want to board this attraction).
All along the line he paths use permanent steel railings with rocks around. The whole line too is covered by an awning allowing the attraction to be able to hold many during a rain storm. The paths eventual lead into a building with showcases other "Sirius Cybernetics Corporation" products and eventually the line leaves this building back to under the awning and eventually gets to the outside loading area. A large area was designed to hold 458 people. (As well as the preshows). The point of this area is really just to make sure it can fit everybody. Eventually, two large steel doors open and guests enter the TV preshow.
This room looks sinister. So sinister in fact that many of the people who come over from milliways would assume that it was built from the Vogons. The vogon's architecture though is normally ugly. Here, it is very beautiful but just happens to be sinister too. There are no windows due to the rooms position, but instead, glowing alien designs. The room seems empty though and nothing seems to be able to warrent a preshow until the guests look up.
Above them are huge robot arms that carry large plasma TVs. The arms themselves look like they just want to start beating the crap out of the guests. Instead, they gently lower until the TVs are into plain view. The TVs, are large. Possibly 100 inch TVs. The kind you want to watch the superbowl on. They seem rounded though which would mean you might now be able to tell the score if you were to watch the superbowl on them.
Eventually, the TVs turn from static to on. And the message presents itself. Everything redesigned and refilmed. It's not the Loonatics kind of redesign though. It is more or less a redesign like the new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie is like. So basically, it is like your watching the original preshow on acid. Well not really but you get the point.
The TVs showcase the history of Sirius Cybernetics Corporation as well as the bold history of their compaint's department that now covers several planets. There is a humorous feeling through that but it is not made to make all happy and then scare the crap out of the guests. No, there is still many uneasing points of the dialogue. The spokepeople also point out how their products spread to every point in the galaxy and now to planets like Earth who have only recently reached interstellar contact. So, the spokespeople decide to showcase the teleport system which unknowingly to the guests is extremely disliked throughout the galaxy.
When the first preshow is done, the doors open on the other side of the room and the guests enter these doors. Each doors leads to a path that goes to a different level allowing all guests to view this preshow. In here, a darker red is used with more lights glowing in locations that seem to come from nowhere. There is a podium in the middle but guests can clearly see below it. On the sides are two teleport tubes that are larger than before.
The preshow here is at about 5:00 long. A robot makes a greeting at the podium but is no way like Sir. This robot happens to use Sirius Cybernetic's "Genuine People Personalities". However, because of this, the robot is extremely happy for no apparent reason and is somewhat annoying. It talks about happy things and well even when things go wrong. He shows off the teleport thing and well, the creature inside ends up dieing a horrible death due to a malefunction, the robot remains happy and somehow says very disturbing and sad things in a happy tone too. In all, it leaves the guests feeling very uneasy at the end.
The chamber is huge. Just the fact that there are two of these will amaze people. As said before the outside of the chamber will be 70 feet in diameter but the inside walls will be 65 feet. The ceiling is not visible due to wiring, tubes and catwalks above. In reality, the chamber is 35 feet tall. The ceiling though is 30 feet above ground level. In the middle is the tube, above all things, this will be the first thing noticed. The tube itself is 12.5 feet tall and the whole struction holding the tube stretches above to the ceiling. What is not known though is that the structure also goes 15 feet under the chamber to where the AA is held when not shown as well as where it is worked on for maintenence. Also, the different layers of glass, barrier, and broken glass is held here.
There is also a ledge above all the seats. Here, a series of plasma screens circle the audience. There is about 8 of them and they are quite large. Static is on when the guests enter.
Guests board and get into their lovely seats and the show starts. When the guests board the seats though, they will find the seats too have a GPP and say "Thank you for making a chair like me happy" or something like that. There will be probably 20 statements record for the chairs to use so that guests may remain surprised. The corporation decides to send a spokesperson (who strongly refuses to go) and in during the transmission of the person via Sub-etha he gets stuck on the wrong planet and the Alien accidently gets teleported. Well, the alien was pretty cool looking in the first place, he will be redesigned to look more hominid in the way and resemble the Space Pirates from the Metroid games more. Not exactly, but more of a mix. Alien is still pretty mad at being teleported because as from "The Restuarant at the End of the Universe" says in a nice little song:
I teleported home one night
With Ron and Sid and Meg.
Ron stole Meggie's heart away
And I got Sidney's leg.
But anyway, the Alien is mad, and eventually gets hungry. He knocks the power. There is the guy trying to restore the power. Instead of using an actual CM though, a light on a small track could be used as well as maybe an actual camara giving a live feed.
One problem this attraction faces is, with a much higher capacity, how is it that this attraction can maintain long lines as well as re-ridability that the previous could not obtain. The way this could be done would be like what the Tower of Terror does. About less than half of the show will be based on random events re-made. Of these events include:
-guns turning on trying to shoot the alien
-Alien outside causing havoc
-More guests dieing
-Tube facing more problems
I would like probably 20 or more random events. You know, get it where the show will almost always be different no matter how many times you ride. I mean I really want to retain the element of surprise even if this is the 100th time you have been on the attraction.
In the end, they get the alien in the tube and he explodes. The show is over and it's all thank you and such. Guests will exit under the awning with the doors to the giftshop emmediatly near after they exit.
