You beat me too it.

Is there an Alice ride at another park? If so, what is it like? Where would you have put it at WDW?

There is a ride that is at Disneyland. It is sorta like a snow white type ride but better.

that is reason enough for me to go to disneyland. alice really does deserve a better ride.

ok, so maybe I am bias because it is my fav movie. or because I am currently reading Lewis Carroll's works. But it is really amazing what the original books of Alice have in them! History, satire, british fantastic...... and the ride Alice gets is a frickin carnival ride.

*sigh* I GUESS I will have to become an imagioneer and build a new ride for her.... ;)

If every ride at WDW was like every ride at DL, there would be no reason for people like me to travel to DL every five years when WDW is so much closer. Alice in Wonderland ride rocks, as does the Matterhorn and in my opinion nothing can compete with "The Temple of Mara".

:sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy: On Sunday we'll be walking on Main Street.

I agree, I will make my first DL appearance when they celebrate their 50th. They are suppose to redo 5 of their major attractions at that time... Jungle Cruise, Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, and something else. Once they do this, I believe DL and MK will be VERY different from one another, only sharing Splash Mountain, BTM, and maybe a few others. Of Course Star Tours from MGM. But for the most part very different. I feel that Small World is different because of the outside appearance at DL. Even Fantasmic is different in DL, right?

I would assume that the reason why the Alice and Pinnochio rides weren't done in WDW is because of space and/or they might not have been extremely popular at DL so Walt decided not to put them in MK-WDW. Either way, Fantasyland in MK-WDW is a lot smaller than MK-DL. I just remembered that there's no Casey Jones RR or Matterhorn in WDW either. :brick:

As for the Alice ride in DL, it's my favorite dark or, as me and my brother call them, "cardboard" ride. I really like how you go outside for a bit and the visuals are great. I'm hoping to go back to DL sometime in the near future especially to check out DL-CA.

Pinocchio wasn't built until 1983. (Walt was long gone)

Shortly after the New Fantasyland opened, I attended a lecture on Imagineering by Tony Baxter. New Fantasyland was getting great revues. He mentioned that Imagineering pitched a 2 story Alice/Pinocchio mixed use building for the MK Fantasyland Theater. At the time the building was still empty after the Mickey Mouse Revue was ripped out. The higher-ups turned it down. Too much $$$.

Thanks for that little bit of knowledge. I forgot that WDW does have the room to put another ride in, but that's where Mickey's Philarmagic is going so let's not bother with putting a ride there.

it looked like from some pitcures that Alice has both the tea cups and her own ride? and the ride looks darling!

They moved the Mad Tea Party to be next to Alice. The Mad Hatter/White Rabbit shop is also very cute. (everything has bunny ears: chairs, grandfather clock, picture frames) There's a large mirror where the Cheshire cat appears and disappears. ( I think theres a similar one in the World of Disney Store, at DD)

Don't forget that at DisneyLand Paris there is Alice's Curious Labyrinth, a well themed hedge maze. I got lost in their for almost an hour.

Fantasyland at MK also doesnt have the storybook boat ride.

One of the few rides that hasn't been destroyed by todays standards.

Casey Jr, Storybookland, and the ORIGINAL Tiki Room, are still intact, almost exactly as Walt had them designed.
