My eldest got to the park at 6:45 today. She and her roommate got FPs for the first show but she noted that the FP line for later showings was back to the front gate.

With Aladdin closing at DCA, I would not put it beyond Disney to recycle the show (including costumes and sets to the extent possible) to provide an additional attraction for DHS on the cheap.

That could be cool. I always saw it going into Epcot if they ever wanted to expand Morocco.

Well, that's it, folks. Yet another show has fallen to the harsh and unforgiving void that is corporate greed.

R.I.P.
DCA production* of Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular
2003-2016

*The reason I put that there is because technically, the show is still playing on the Disney Fantasy cruise ship, and there have been rumors here on the forums of the show possibly coming to DHS. Time will tell.

Greed? The show had been running long past it's expiration date in a locals heavy DLR. The show had been rumored to close several times before this.. yet got a reprieve.

I have no love for Frozen as a show.. but sometimes its just time for change. Here's just hoping the next show can be as solid as Aladdin was.

So those of you who have been to Disneyland should know of Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular ! I was so incredibly shocked at how entertaining this show actually was! This was mainly because of the Genie character!! He is so hilarious! The actual show itself is really well done! :) But I just really really loved the show.. and apparently the show is so popular in Disneyland that when they were going to remove the show to make way for something new, it had so much of a fan base that Disney actually gave in to its popular demand and let the show stay!

The reason I bring this up... I personally think that WDW should get this show. And the very first place I thought it could go is the the theatre in HS where Beauty and the Beast currently is. It'd be a great replacement! What's old in Disneyland would be new in Disney World... Right?? Does anyone agree with me?
Seen both of them... The first time I saw both they were equally entertaining... But I don't think they should replace Beauty just to open Aladdin... WDW is geared more toward a world wide audience and the rapid fire zingers of Aladdin would probably be zipping right past many of the guests that weren't American. Also it would be a lot more difficult to cast a decent Genie... the best part of Aladdin was always the Genie and if your Genie doesn't have the right timing the show isn't as good... From your videos you appear to have gotten the best Genie that we ever saw there, have seen one on one occasion that was really kind of flat performance wise and it pulled down the show all around... With Beast you don't have the problem with having to find someone with the comic timing you just get some people to fill the costumes and it works... So Beast is probably a much more reliable show quality wise.

Having been to both WDW and DL about the same number of times over the past 10 years my experience is that neither Aladdin or Beast is a show that anyone in the family longs to go back and watch on any given trip. We might watch either one simply based on whether we have nothing else to do at the time... From a kids perspective I think my daughters have wanted to do second visits to Beast on later trips but have never really cared about seeing Aladdin a second time.... So it may also be a show that adults find more entertaining than kids which would also make it a poorer choice to move into HS if they want to pull in kids to the attraction.

We still don't need two Frozen shows.
I'm not sure I would even call the Frozen Sing-along a show as much as I would call it a nice place to cool off on a hot day. It was one of those "shows" the kids just had to see and then even they were going, why did we waste time on that when it was over.
