Hi Everyone!

Can you all give me some tips on the best way to get from AKL to the Boardwalk? We'll be heading over there after we arrive at AKL on the ME, approximately 11:30 AM - Noon.

Thanks

Not an easy one.
Essentially you would have to go to a park then to Boardwalk.

My initial thought was AKL to Epcot, walk through Epcot to Boardwalk (or MGM then walk to Boardwalk)

We figured it wouldn't be too easy. We're not in any hurry as we don't have reservations for anything until dinner that night @ 8:30. We were thinking the bus to Epcot and then walk to Boardwalk too.

The easiest route would be to take the bus to DHS and from there either walk along the river or take the boat. If time is an issue a cab ride will be less than $15 and much quicker. If you are returning after the parks close a cab is pretty much your only option. You could go to DTD and then back to AKL but you are looking at a good hour to do that.

We've done this trip many times at different times of day. The quickest route is to take bus from AKL to DHS and walk down path to Boardwalk. The second quickest route is to take bus to AK and then take the Swan Dolphin Bus get off at the first stop and walk to the Boardwalk. The first is quicker but a much longer walk. The second is a much shorter walk but you will probably wait longer for the Swan/Dolphin Bus at AK

I totally agree, we have done this many times. Take the bus from AKL to DHS and walk to the Boardwalk. You can also take the boat from DHS to the Boardwalk, but only take it if it is there when you arrive. Don't wait for it, because you would be half way to the Boardwalk via walking if you do.

When we go to any of the EPCOT resorts we take bus to DHS and then boat to resort. We've always had at least one kid with us and thought the walk was too long for them. Being at AKL you could bus to AK then bus to BW too.

The full walk from the Studios gates to Epcot's International Gateway gates is about 1.1 miles. This would be via the shortest route, which actually cuts through Boardwalk's main pool area.
The walk from Studios to Boardwalk is probably about 0.6 miles. (Or to put it in terms of an in-park distance, that'd be about the equivalent of walking from the front gates of Epcot to the France pavilion)
