airline packages

This is all new to me. I need some ideas.
We are planning a trip in March and we will have to fly because we are limited on time. I was wondering if the packages the airlines offer are any good or should we just get our air line tickets and book our rooms separate. We will be needing two adjoining room.

I'm not sure how prices compare in the USA, but for a family of four in the UK, booking things seperately (over the net & phone) saves us quite a few £££ compared to booking a complete package through a travel agent

Ideas are us!!!!!!!!! I wasnt even aware that the airlines had packages!!!  Goes to show you what I know!!!!! What I do know however is that Disney themselves does run all kinds of specials. As a method of comparison, go to Disneyworld.com. there is a special savings icon on your right hand side. Hit that and follow it all the way through. Choose some dates and work up the prices for that. Then do the same dates for a package through the airlines!!! Me personally I call Pam of Kingdom Konsultant to book my trip. She is the travel agent sponsor for the boards. She is generally pretty up on all the available discounts and can work with you to see which one is the best your group qualifies for . Her phone number is 1866-566-7858. Hope this helps!!! Belle

I have done both. As far as potential prices are concerned, I have gotten very close to the same numbers for airline (USAirways) initiated vs Disney initiated packages. More often than not, working through the airline gives you greater flexibility on flights than booking flights through Disney...at least in my experience.

With that said, these prices are for packages. If your specific travel plans would benefit from itemizing your trip (purchase of room, tickets, airfare, ground transportation, meals) separately, they you are better off dealing with a reputable agent (see Pam) or direct with Disney if you are comfortable enough with that.

The BIG thing to remember is followup. If you have changes to make, cancellations, billing issues, you have to go through whomever you made your plans with. If it is an airline package, you have to call the airline, not Disney. Same with AAA or other plans.
