Airline E-Tickets?

I haven't flown for the past two years so I have no idea what these airline e-tickets are all about. I booked my vacation with the Walt Disney Travel Company and I just received my travel documents. I only received passenger receipts for my airline tickets. I am just wondering about my seat assignments. My husband, my six year old, and myself are going on this trip and I definitely don't want my son to sit by himself. How do these e-tickets work with seat assignments. Do I call the airline or Disney Travel Co. to find out my seats or request them. I have no idea what I should do. Please help.

To save money, very few airlines still give you paper tickets. They give you an E-ticket confirmation which you turn in for your boarding pass at check in. Very easy actually, and saves them and you money.

With that document you should be able to go online to the specific airlines website and check out your information. There should also be a confirmation number on it that you would enter into the appropriate space on the website and it will bring up all your info. You can then pick your own seating. Please be sure that you bring along the credit card that you used to purchse the tickets. You will need this to enter into the computer terminal for E-tickets at the airport. Once you insert your CC into the slot, your information will appear on the screen. This is how you check-in. It will then print out a boarding pass for you. If you need help doing this, please contact me. If you have any other questions, you can either PM or e-mail me.

Thanks Pam!

Thanks for the information. It took me some time to find my confirmation number on my passenger receipt (there are a lot of numbers and letters on it). I tried all the 6 letter codes until finally I got the right ones. Luckily all our 3 airline seats are together. Also it was good that I checked because my departing flight to Orlando leaves earlier than previously stated and my returning flight's number changed.

Pam,

not all airlines require the same credit card. I paid for my plane tickets last summer with an airfare voucher. At the automated check in counter, I inserted my Visa with no trouble. I think it's just matching the name on the ticket and the card.

MKT is right on the money!!! The machines located at the airport are programmed to get your name only from either a credit card or a airlines card, such as Continental has a gold pass type of program. The pass itself isnt a credit card but it will confirm your name. Have fun!! Belle

I have used E-tickets to fly at least 4 times now and never had a problem. If your airport has curb-side check-in where they take your luggage you can give them the e-ticket and you get your boarding pass from them. You don't have to check in at the kisok(sp?) after that just go to the gate. Have a good time!

DITTO! My last three flights have been on Delta and I have actually done my "check-in" at home, as well as printing my own boarding pases. At the airport, I checked my bag at curbside and then went through security to my gate. I had my credit card of record with me but have not had to produce it for anyone. Check-in is pretty much hassle-free now.:sohappy:

I fly routinely on AA etickets for business and proceed straight to the gate with my confirmation code, check in either at the gate or the admirals club with passport. Much better than paper tickets and checking in at the counter.
