Airfare for September is simply not budging!

I diligently check several times every day and the absolute best price I can get for tickets for the end of September is $328 per person. Was hoping to get a better deal than that. I'm not very good at the waiting game. I'm so afraid that tickets will start creeping up instead of going down.

Man-that is pricey! Do you guys have allegiant air in your area? We do and it's 50 bucks per person directly to Orlando (100 total)...

I just checked out Allegiant. Man! They are pretty reasonable. My only problem is that the site will only let me price a flight up to August 13, & I need prices for departure of September 25th. That coupled with the fact that from the airport I would have to take them from, they don't fly into into MCO. I would have to fly into SFB, and we weren't planning on renting a car. The car rental would probably eat up any savings I might see in ticket prices.

Thanks for the heads up, though! I hadn't even considered this airline. I've been relying on Kayak.com & Southwest's site. I appreciate your help. :)

No problem! Just keep them in mind next time. You never know! Our little town has it and they go directly to orlando. But the days are always weird.

Our Southwest tickets with early bird both ways ran $380.30 per. So $328 per sounds good to me.

Yikes! That's rough. :( I'm still watching. If prices don't decrease by early next week, I'm just going to suck it up and get them, and just never look back at the prices. What I don't know won't hurt me, right?!

have you checked today - Good prices for us anyway on SW

Yep...checked today and nothing better. They are down from the weekend pricing, but still no better than $328. According to Bing Travel, they should be coming down, but I'm not sure how much faith I put in that.

We would love $328 pp.. Right now it is sitting at $620 or more per person from Nova Scotia for us for sept 23-oct4

Don't know where your coming from but I just booked Southwest from dallas for $127.00

We are coming from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, but have to drive to Milwaukee to get a flight. I was able to snag tickets on Southwest last week for $276 per person. More than I wanted to spend, but way less than I was planning to spend, so I'm satisfied. I've never flown on Southwest previously, so I'm not quite sure what to expect with this whole checking in 24 hours in advance thing, but I'll figure things out as I go. With four of us going, I am absolutely loving the no baggage fees!!! That in itself was a big savings for me. :)

Checking in 24 hours in advance is no big deal. Go to SW's website, click on "check in" put in your name and confirmation number and it will pull up your ressie. Then click below to print your boarding passes. That's it!!!
Oh, I recommend doing it as close to the actual 24 hours out as possible. If your flight leaves 8:00 AM Sat., then do your online check in at 8:00 AM Friday, NO LATER than 8:05! This will give you the best possible boarding category. They do A, B, and C, and I've gotten A's and low B numbers by doing this. Very likely to get the type of seats you want if you do this since you'll board earlier than many others. Don't pay for Early Bird Check-In, it's not necessary.

And another bonus that SW doesn't have assigned seating. We booked through SW and are flying Airtran but we still have free luggage. We're going for two weeks and I hate doing laundry on vacation unless I absolutely have to.

It's way too early to be looking for cheap airfare for september with major carriers unless it's through someone budget like jetblue whose rates go up as you get closer to the date...you're only bet's pretty much to just wait for the major carriers as it gets closer, or until Jetblue (or similar) put out the schedule for sept.
