We will be at Pop in August.. what are the chances we can fit an air mattress on the floor instead of just a sleeping bag for one of my kids? We have a double but I can buy a single no problem. We are driving down so we will have plenty of room to bring it with us.

LOL..we have 2 rooms..but my kids hate sharing sleeping space... 7 people..4 beds ( well dh and I will share a bed) so that leaves my 3 little ones to either share a bed or split up the floor space in the two rooms.. so I am planning on the rotating being on the floor.. and an air mattress sounds much better than just a sleeping bag..

Ah, gotcha. And I agree that a single-size air mattress *should* fit OK on the floor. I wouldn't try anything larger than that in the Value resort rooms.

Sweetness... going to buy/pack two just in case..worse case is my kids don't mind sharing a bed after a long day in Disney and they stay in the boxes in the van right?

We did this for our last trip. It was just the four of us (me, DH, DD age 7 and DS age 4). DH and I absolutely cannot sleep together on one of those tiny little double beds. So, we each took a bed and we brought two single air mattresses. They both fit in the room just fine. You have to do a little creative maneuvering with the furniture, i.e. move the table and chairs on the other side of the TV cabinet near the sink side of the room. We put the mattress down in an L-shape...one under the window and one like at the foot of the bed. Worked out wonderfully. In the morning before leaving, we just stood them up on their ends against the wall so Mousekeeping would have room to do their thing.

You can definitely fit a single air mattress on the floor, but I dont know if it would fit between the beds, probably more at the sink area. But I have to imagine anything longer than 2 or 3 days camped in like that would wear on the patience of all inhabitants of the room. The Values are ridiculously small for 4 guests with zero room to put all your clothes and daily belongings at the end of the day. Adding a mattress to the floor really must make it a challenge for anybody that has to get up and go in the middle of the night!

WDW is so designed to only serve families of 4 or less. It really sucks. As a suggestion, I would look at allstarvacationhomes.com for future visits. Well worth the money and 10x more room for around the same price.

The OP already has two rooms for her family of 7. I believe the problem is that one (or more) of her children don't want to share a bed with a siblings.

Bed #1 Mom & Dad
Bed #2 child#1
Bed #3 child#2
Bed #4 child#3

Children # 4 & 5 - apparently one is willing to share a bed with # 1, 2, or 3, but one is not, so OP wants to bring an air mattress for the stubborn one(s).

This is one of those days when I'm glad that I just have two children.

We reached a point where we had the choice between an air mattress, or my husband & I splitting up. We chose to split up - boys in one bed, girls in the other.

We might be traveling as a family again this year - it will probably be my daughter & I in one room, with my husband & son in another. But my children will be 18 & 27.
