Agent P joining Phineas and Ferb for a one day appearance at the Studios

First off, what did they add? If you for a second think this is adding something you need to take off the rose colored glasses. The reason people think this is lame is because he deserves to be in the meet and greet consistently, not just to promote a TV special. And who said it ruined their vacation? Also if Mickey didnt ride with my kid at least I can go meet him and get his autograph and interact with him later on.

Its an addition, fleeting or minor, it is still an addition. Those who are there that day will have a magical moment. Good for them. Sure I wish he was there everyday. Who wouldn't, but bashing them over it and complaining about it doesn't make much more sense than the 1 day visit. A few days ago there was no hope he would ever be in the parks, now maybe.

I personally don't like the idea of more meet and greets. I think they have to maintain a balance, I would hate to see the parks over run by m&g's. I am glad that they rotate in and out some characters. I think that there should be some spots where you get a random m&g with the "rare" characters. I like the characters as being events, not attractions. You always know when you go you will get to ride the tea cups, but I enjoy the hunt and the mystery of the character stalking. Right now, my kids can figure out nearly exactly which character they will see, and where.

It's Dr. Doofenshmirtz. CURSE YOU PERRY THE PLATYPUS!

rofl...soooo funny!

Clearly I am disappointed to have missed meeting Agent P (hint: check out my avatar). I get that they brought him for one day to the DHS M&G to promote the new P&F TV movie (which was great, btw). But...he really needs to be a permanent part of the M&G.

If you've seen the new 2nd Dimension movie, you'll understand that P&F now know that their pet platypus doubles as a secret agent. Problem solved. While we're at it, the 4th main character, Dr. Doof, absolutely should be added to this M&G. Actually, our DD5 is a huge P&F fan and she would really like to meet Candace and Isabella as well. Seems like unless you're a princess or fairy the female characters always get overlooked. Only exception that comes to mind is Jessie from Toy Story.

For those who are concerned about DHS (or any of the other parks) becoming "overrun" by M&G's, we are far from that stage at this point. There really are not that many opportunities to actually meet characters anyway at DHS. Basically just Pooh & Friends in the Animation Bldg and Lightning McQueen & Mater at Luigi's Garage. Plus a few other Pixar characters. And I suppose you could count the Star Wars characters at JTA if you wanted to. Does this really seem like too many M&G's??? Especially keeping in mind the high guest demand for these character experiences.

Call it an event, call it a promotion but its still not an addition. This was posted on a discussion board and the negative responses are how people feel, myself included. If they are going to shove these meet and greets at us, at least give us what we want. As far as the random meetings go, I more than agree with you. Some of our best character experiences were random by chance. If the report had said agent P was going to be there from whatever time till whatever time and then he would be popping up from time to time,(hey its agent P, hes a busy platypus.) My comments would have been totally different. The problem is the temporary or 1 time meet and greets are just kind of annoying, especially for popular characters.

Wrong! You did watch the movie, right? I won't give it away for those who haven't, but perhaps you should watch the ending more closely.

How is everyone complaining about this and not seeing Disney's great minds hit it on the head again. It's the authentic guest Phineas & Ferb experience! Guests can just stand around in line asking, "Hey, where's Perry?" As much as they please! I bet the cast members love it! :lookaroun

This was a promotional appearance for the Disney Channel - they were filming for at least two of the three sets, those meeting Perry had to sign a waiver. I dont think that a "hot set" paid for by the Disney Channel classifies as an "addition" by any stretch of the imagination. Not that it is a bad thing, but lets not give TDO credit for trying to give anyone a magical moment.

I'm wondering if they're actually playing with the costume's design. I saw the pic on the official parks blog, and it's not what I'd call their best costume attempt.

Someone mentioned it could be on loan from the tour (which could have different movement/sight-line requirements from what they typically use in the parks). They must know Perry's insanely popular, but maybe they're testing to see what they need to do to create a better product for the park M&Gs?

That'd be my guess as to why it's only a one day thing.

Maybe it's just a sign of things to come. Being a huge Doofenshmirtz fan, I'd love to see something involving Doof and Agent P. I think considering the way they battle on the show, they might be able to incorporate them into a live stage show with fighting stunts and the same kind of humor we see during their "battles" in show episodes. Oh, who am I kidding- I just want to hear Doof say something like "Shocky-Socky-Suity-Suit" in person. :ROFLOL:

Soooo...you DON'T think Perry should be a permanent addition to the Phineas & Ferb M&G???

I would absolutely love to have the platypus be a part of the M&G in some capacity, I was just pointing out that Phineas and Ferb still do *not* know that Perry = Agent P.

I should post the link, but I don't know if its appropriate, to a recorded interview between Len Testa co-author of the unofficial guide, and Jim Hill. My entire opinion of the Agent P event and disney thinking changed. Jim Hill is a connected insider, and he explained the money and the politics of decisions that go on in the parks. Google for it, its 2 hours and very informative.

Having said that, others have also stated, this was promotional, paid for (I would bet) 100% by Disney channel, and perhaps strictly for the filming opportunity. I would bet that Disney Channel actually owns the suit, and the resorts have no real access to it. There is quite a fight financially about seeing if you can get another division to pay for additions to the parks. This would be one of those examples.

As for addition or event, fine you all win, it was an event, but accepting that, there is still no real reason for the amount of disappointment with Disney over it. Sure, it would have been cool to see and be a part of, that is valid disappointment. Thinking that this is yet another Disney screw up, well that seems kinda silly. I think that not having Dark Wing Duck in the parks everyday is disappointing, but I don't think that Disney has screwed up by not doing it.

If guests want Agent P in the parks they need to request him at Guest Relations. If there's enough demand many characters do come out. That's how it was with Phineas and Ferb. Guests desperately wanted to see them and management responded by adding them to the character line up.

We will be sure to put in the request! We leave tomorrow and will be in HS in a few days!

not exactly the way things work, but it helps. P & F along with Agent P, are very difficult " friends to work with " especially Agent P, which is a large part of why we will rarely see him.....for now.
