Aftermath of the Wand

It's amazining that 1 they don't have security there making sure no one takes any pieces, and 2 you weren't asked to leave. Stil, all that stuff there and no body else was there doing the same thing as you.

Rather an un-Disney way to get rid of it. Why not recyle? Or alest out of the way of wildlife. I once saw I wild deer in Epcot car park, this could be extremly dangerous to small animals.

Now that's just pretty. :)

Thousands of years from now, archaeologists will be excavating portions of central Florida and will find massive piles of sequins in the swamp muck.

Woo-hoo, 3,000 posts!

I'm sure that Disney will be recycling the metal eventually. That's a LOT of scrap metal that would fetch a chunk of change. But it all needs to be cut up into small, manageable pieces first. Then along will come the dump trucks and haul it all away. Some things may get auctioned off, like the letters, or they may decide that there's a risk of the scrap metal people re-selling them before they're melted down, so Disney could bury them in the landfill in the NW corner of the property. But most of the wand structure was just non-descript structural steel and is easily recycled.

That was the first thing I thought of, too. Especially when the light bulbs are pointed out.

I dont think this is the final resting place. Looks to be a staging area. There was more danger to the person taking the video than any "small" animals. In fact, thats a small animal playground.

I'm suprised they didn't recycle some of the materials

Dang people, give them some time. Its not like Disney could back a mobile steel shreader up to the entrance of EPCOT and shread steel and melting it down right there in front of God and everyone.....it will happen. More than likely, Disney has already sold it to a buyer and its sitting there waiting to be picked up.
