After The Year of A Million Dream

I hate to point this out, but Al Lutz actually reported it back in February:

Yeah, I had read about Magical Celebrations coming to Disneyland in an Al Lutz Update three months ago. Now that I re-read it again, it seems Al Lutz also said that this was something also coming to WDW, basically to replace the Dreams campaign.

So now that other websites are finally confirming what Al Lutz already said in February, that gets us to the question of timing. Disneyland has a 55th Anniversary planned for 2010, and then WDW has a 40th in 2011. You don't think they would lump those two together, do you? Try for another Global Anniversary thing again, since the 50th went over so well, at least in Anaheim???

I really hope they keep the back to back anniversaries separate. A 55th and a 40th aren't major enough to make a huge deal out of, and I think they should try separating the marketing campaigns for a bit.

Could be worse.

We could be facing "The Happiest Magical Celebration of Wishes and Dreams for the Future (Hand in Hand)."

I don't care as long as every park gets a new E-Ticket! :sohappy:

And Beastly Kingdom opens! :sohappy::sohappy:

And Horizons is rebuilt better than before!!! :sohappy::sohappy::sohappy::sohappy::sohappy:

If some of the YOAMD prizes become purchase components of the new promotion, I wonder how much the castle suite will cost per night? Or Fastpasses for all FP attractions in each park (ala Dream Fastpasses during YOAMD)?

I wonder how much folks would be willing to pay for the current YOAMD prizes?

Reminds me of the Magical Gatherings promotion they had between the 100 Years of Magic and Happiest Celebration on Earth. At least we'll still be getting some of the YoaMD prizes. I am still waiting to win the stay in the castle. :)

All it says is:

has just been informed that after the conclusion of the long-running Year of a Million Dreams celebration in December 2008, Disney Parks will begin a new, smaller scale promotional program. The new promotion will be titled “Magical Celebrations” and is scheduled to begin in January 2009. The only part of the celebration that has been mentioned (still unofficial) thus far for the Walt Disney World Resort is the addition of Disneyland’s Parade of Dreams to the Magic Kingdom. No additional information is available at this time, but stay tuned to as more becomes available.

Interesting both stories seem to feed into each other. With a new parade at DL and POD headed to MK.

At least that's the current plan, to create a marketing campaign to run from spring through Christmas of 2009 that focuses on the entertainment offered at Disneyland. The campaign would tout the new daytime "Wonder" parade that will debut at Disneyland in '09 once the Main Street paving is complete. And at the same time in the spring the Electrical Parade would move from DCA back over to Disneyland, where it was supposed to have "glowed away forever" 13 years earlier.

That,or the year of no promotion so we could make the 40th even bigger.

*Sigh*

I dunno about the rest of you but I'm very excited for 2011.I wish Disney would leave the promoting alone and let us cool off so we can get REALLY hipped up for the 40th.Alson if they wanted to extend the celebration(like 100YOM and YOAMD) into 2012 they could totally pull of a 30th for EPCOT.;)

Anybody with me?

So is it possible we may see Parade Of Dreams and Illuminations Sky Dance by next Spring? I noticed on Screamscape Illuminations Sky Dance had a stop sign next to 2009 so I was curious if that meant it has been confirmed for 2009?

We only think 2009 because its when ROE's conträct runs out.I personally dont think we will see it until later because of the lack of info we have on it.09 is too close

The little "STOP" signs on Screamscape merely indicate there's recently updated news in that section, so its easy to spot when you scroll down the page.
