Quick notes - The cannons at Splash fire off every third boat.. And, the cannons are turned off during the winter months unless the temp. raises above a certain level (no, I can't tell you what it is). They weren't broken in December, they simply were turned off.

Umm...it's called Splash Mountain for a reason...

It says, "You will get wet, you may get drenched"
If you're bringing valuables on a ride with a sign like that...that's your own perogative.

I, for one, don't necessarily like getting wet and walking through a park drenched...but if I'm in the mood for Splash Mountain, then I'll ride it...if I don't feel like getting wet...I don't.

I guess I'm saying...I like the jets that get you wet (now, if it was a ride like the TTA...I would not like it...because you're not expecting to get wet).

The last time I was on Splash Mountain...I was drenched head to toe...and it was only about 45 degrees out...but...at the same time, I couldn't really complain because I made my own decision to ride it.

Sorry... miscommunication.. The cannons that fire out onto the guests on Splash Bridge are every third boat. The side cannons which shoot the boats on the attractions are on every boat.

Oh, okay... I understand. :) That makes sense.

I don't get mad when I get wet... beause, well, duh... it's a water ride. But sometimes you get just a sprinking (which usually happens when it's 95 degrees and you're about to die of heat stroke) and sometimes you get soaked from head to toe (which usually happens when it's 45 degrees and very windy).

I personally love Splash, and will ride it no matter what the weather. :)

And I was with her. I used to never get wet on Splash. Now you can't hardly get through that spot without getting soaked!

Don't mind a lil spray, or even getting wet. But ruining a 150 dollar cell phone, or a 500 dollar digital camera isn't exactly my idea of a 'fun' ride. If there was a safe place to store them durring the ride, then it's on!!

Don't get me wrong, I know what you're saying...but it's a water ride...if something you have can't get wet...then it's probably not the best thing to bring it with you on a ride that says, very clearly, that you're going to get wet. Yes, Kali and the Bilge-Rat-Barges over at IoA have storage in the middle for things you don't want to get wet...but, if I had expensive valuables on me that couldn't get wet, I wouldn't go on the ride (I wouldn't chance one of those flaps not being secured enough). Likewise, Dudley-Do-Right over at IoA and Jurassic Park River Adventure don't have "waterproof" storage either...and you get a lot "wetter" on Dudley than you do on Splash.

If you must keep your valuables water-tight and you must go on the attraction, bring a plastic bag along with you or purchase a poncho. I don't think it's a call to "fix" a "problem" that really isn't there.

BTW...I only quoted the Fordlover because of the statement about valuables...not because he/she thinks that there is anything wrong with the attraction.

That's happened to me a few times before, while other times it hasn't. I suppose it's just the luck of the draw. :animwink:
