After Iger.....

My glass is half empty until proven otherwise.

FLE...hugely downgraded from the grandiose plans, ride elements already failing on Mermaid and many shutdowns (from reports) of SDMT. DHS appears to be largely closed down amid rumors and unconfirmed urban legends. Disney Springs...sorry but it is just a mall, any half a$$ed developer can throw a themed outdoor mall together in Florida. Avatarland...not a fan but I guess it is unfair to say it is not a step forward but the jury is out for me until completion and a successful first year with minimal to no ride element breakdowns.

I would like to say not all of this is his fault but if we can hand out glowing accolades about the companies profitability solely to him then I would also say we can do the same of the failings throughout the parks. Perhaps a lot of this may fall back on Meg too but she still has a job and Iger is top of the food chain. I have no idea how the hierarchy is set up within the corporate structure but at the end of the day the captain is in charge of the ship.

While Iger is not perfect by any means, and yes I too am a stock holder, to say he hasn't done anything to help P & R is fairly odd. He took that imagined paragon of Disney theme park design - DCA - and turned it into something worth going to. Under his watch they have poured a ton of money into DL, which they had to because previous regimes allowed it to rot into an outdoor shopping mall. Eisner did a great job of alienate pretty much everyone who dealt with Disney, including Pixar and Lucas, and Iger put those relationships back together and then brought their IP into the fold. I also hate to break the news, but most of those 1950s movies were not original Disney concepts, they were stories that many of which had already been done and Disney just did them differently - not unlike Frozen which is based on another story. The magic bands and related issues are something I also have to disagree with you on, I loved the convenience on the two trips I have made since they rolled them out - although to be fair the first time they were only partially rolled out and had some pretty ugly gotchas but it does add a lot of convenience (I am not one of those that thinks standing in lines in the Florida sun "enhanced" my experience). Now that they have finished pouring all the money and WDI resources into DLR I hope they are going to do a similar upgrade to at least DHS and to some degree AK. I do wish they would do more and faster, especially something for Epcot, but it did take several years to turn DCA from the wonderful Eisner brand of Disney Theme Park into the great theme park it is today.
That's all fine and I give him credit for it, but I'm waiting to hear what he did at WDW aside from Fantasyland.

All the relationships are great, but we've yet to see anything big come out of Star Wars or really Pixar in the parks. All of it is too late. DHS, EPCOT, and AK were essentially ignored.

WERE ignored. Past tense. Again, Animal Kingdom has gotten the new theater for Lion King, Avatarland is coming, and new entertainment is coming. We don't know what, exactly, is coming for DHS, but that doesn't appear to be ignored anymore either.

All I care about is how he's performed to date...I can only judge him on his body of work during his 10 years. I can augment my judgement of his reign once we see what's executed at WDW, but thus far, he gets a D- for his efforts.

When the facts change, I'll change. Unfortunately, the fact still remains that WDW has been a non priority for this leadership.
