I have stated my views on cartoon characters in Tommorrowland before, and I don't feel like repeating them.

All I have to say is I'm glad Walt Disney didn't decided to tear down and create attractions that were only based on his movies. Just think Pirates of the Carribean, the Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and many other attractions would not be here today.

Hopefully everyone gets my point.

I agree. To an extent? Yes, if it's tasteful. But things are seeming to get a little out-of-hand.

And, although this might be a nice change, it adds to the fear of "character invasion" - it may happen, to the minds of attraction fans, that Jack Sparrow will attack POTC. Brother Bear will invade CBJ. Woody and Jessie infest Wonders of Life. Goofy takes over the Diamond Horseshoe Jamboree.

Oh wait, that already happened. :lookaroun :(

But based on things like ENCHANTED TIKI ROOM - UNM, it scares the heck out of me. Adding portions of Finding Nemo to "Living Seas?" Sure!

To sum it up, most people against Stitch are also concerned that other attractions might have an unwanted "character invasion."

Well the results of this poll are really making me feel better. All this talk about AE not being popular is looking less and less true after seeing that the good majority of people at least "liked" the show. And while it doesn't seem like this was everyone's favorite attraction, at least more people "loved" it than "hated" it. That's always nice to see. Anything to ease the suffering

That's your view. Every side to a poll like this (almost any poll for that matter) can manipulate the results into something positive for them.

I could really argue that 75% didn't think it was all that great. If people liked AE that much, they wouldn't want Stitch to be there.

Only 25% want AE to remain. *These people actually miss it*
Nearly 20% think it's a disaster and horrible. *ALmost a given, no repeat visits* 6% weren't impressed. *I'd say that these wouldn't have a repeat visit* 50% thought it was a decent ride, but weren't impressed or enjoyed AE enough to think that it should stay and Stitch shouldn't enter.

70+% are ready to see Stitch. *I'd also say that the 6% will at least try Stitch once it opens*

Actually part of the storyline is that you are entering an intense training flight (even though I still don't think M:S is that intense. Overhyped? Yes. But still fun? Yes.)

You couldn't put any signs once you entered the building of AE. It would totally ruin the great story. Remember on AE nothing bad is supposed to happen :animwink: . But I know where you are coming from. I wish they would've added numerous warnings even if they took away from the story. A flawed attraction is better than losing it entirely.

Yeah, the warnings located before entering the ride were kinda indicating that something WOULD go wrong :dazzle: It should have been tastefully created so that a risk was invovled making it fit more to the storyline :hammer: and not suggest that something would happen but expain the risk of something happening :slurp: But most of us know that Disney must word things so that they cannot be sued for anything like this. I think the Imagineers could have come up with something creative though :king: "XS assumes no responsibility for damages to personal items from Earth or injury of the people of Earth by alien creatures or any lifeform. Please do not participate in this demonstration if you are sensitive to loud noises and possible failures during the presentation. Thank you people of Earth. -Tomorrowland Interplanetary Convention Centre" something like that, maybe :veryconfu Long live Alien Encounter 1995-2003!! It will be missed but times are changing as well =)

Wow thanks for kicking us while we are down. I was trying to look at the bright side to see that most people thought it was at least worthwhile for a visit or two and you pretty much shot that down. Thanks.

I have to agree with Turkey Leg Boy

To me it's saying that most people are glad Stitch is coming. It was good for a while and now they are glad something new is taking it's place. To me that's what the pole is saying. If all these people are looking forward to Stitch coming then it's time for a change. And I honestly think in that park, it should have some characters. The faces on kids when they come off attractions that have their favorite characters in it is priceless and to me Magic Kingdom should have that affect on the little ones. We all love the "Kingdom" but you can't replace a child's face and that to me is the park to do it in. Give the kids that much, we have plenty of attractions to make us happy in there plus the other three parks.

But that wasn't the point I was trying to make. I wasn't trying to say AE should've stayed. I was just trying to disprove the notion that so many people have that NOBODY liked AE and it was the most unpopular attraction in the history of Disney World. And yes alot of people feel that way. If you guys had even remotely read my post about that you would know I wasn't trying to say that well it seems like AE should've stayed. I was simply saying that AE might have been more well liked that some people would like to admit. I wasn't trying to say that Stitch is unpopular and AE should've stayed

:hammer: :hammer: :hammer:

This would be like if they decided to close The Haunted Mansion or Jungle Cruise or something like that to make way for a new high tech thrill ride for instance. I would vote something like "I liked the old one but I am looking forward to the new thrill ride". I actually love those two attractions but it wouldn't hurt me badly to see them replaced. I think that is what the vote is telling us. That alot of people liked AE while it was here but they are also big Stitch fans and want to see him in the park too. But whatever if you guys want to look at the negative sides of things be my guest

You are way too sensative!!!

I wasn't trying to put anything you did or said down! I was just voicing my opinion that's all. I wasn't being critical I was just agreeing with someone. But I disagree with you on pirates or Haunted Mansion. Those two attractions are mainstays and believe me if they even thought of taking them down there would be a war. They could improve them but they could never take them down. I honestly feel that's how they feel about adding stiich to AE, they probably think it will improve it. We'll have to see.

AE really never did anything for me, I thought it was OK, but in recent years, seemed a bit dated. I think the addition of Stitch will breathe some new life into this attraction. This is the first time I can say, I am looking forward to going to it!!:)

I am one of the die hard fans that is actually really saddened to see alien encounter go. I wish that they would have just updated it, gave it some modern touches and maybe even change the plot around a little just to keep it fresh. I agree with grizzlyhall when he says that it is a shame to see an original creative disney attraction go. Too many rides that Disney is making have become based off of their movies, look what happened to the tiki room. Im not saying all rides based off of movies are bad, Splash Mountain is good, and I am a huge fan of space ranger spin. It;s just right now there are enough rides based off of disney characters. But before I complain too much I will say I haven't seen the new show yet so I'm not going to shoot it down, I am dissapointed that they had to get rid of AE but I think stitch could have some potential to be a good show. I just wish it would have been built some other way and not at the cost of a great attraction. So Im upset to see AE go, but bring on stitch.

I don't believe Lilo is going to be featured in this attraction. And for that matter "Stitch" won't be in it either. It will be "Experiment 626". So I guess it will kinda fit Tomorrowland, but it kinda won't either. Don't get me wrong I wholeheartedly voted for "What are they thinking? Long live AE!", but I don't think the plot for SGE will be that bad (Of course I also don't think the storyline will be half as good as AE's either). We'll just have to wait a few short months to see for ourselves. And from what we've been hearing it seems it may be open around the begining of June (at least in the soft opening stage). Just rumors at this point though. Let's just hope and pray they put some nice AE references in there (And by referenceS, I do mean more than one  ). Us AE fans desereve it. :)

Wouldn't Stitch fit in with the Tomorrowland theme as much as Alien Encounter? Experiment 626/Stitch is an alien and this ride is a prequel to the movie Lilo & Stitch. The movie begins in outer space w/aliens. With the main character being an alien and the story taking place in space, I think it fits very well with the theme. -Stephanie

You're right. I agree with ya, but I just hope some younger ones don't get disapointed when Lilo isn't there. I really thought that the movie was more about Lilo than Stitch. I wish they would've replaced the Enchanted Tiki Room Under New Management with a LILO and Stitch show. But yes you are right if they stick with the script and don't call him "Stitch" during the show, it will fit the theme of Tomorrowland fine.

Ya know what, I just realized that Jumbaa, the councilwoman and all the aliens all call him 626, only Lilo and the humans call him Stitch. Since it will take place in space, w/out Lilo, I think he will be referred to as 626, so that's good (I think i'm thinking way to much about this lol)

I also think that this ride will be scary. A lot of people say that its going to be a kiddie ride now that Stitch is there. But, it doesn't matter what the character is, when you sit in the pitch dark and things are touching you, moving around, breathing on your neck, water splattering and loud noises- it IS scary. Just look at how many people (me included) scream on It's tough to be a bug and Honey I shrunk the audience.

I liked AE, but I'm really looking forward to Stitch, too. -Steph

This was 1 of the biggest problems i had w/ this attraction coming.... i mean if they call him stitch, IMO that would ruin it..... Hopefully Disney won't do this.... I am a Stitch fan n welcome the chage, AE was ok, not great tho IMO....
