Advice on dates to visit

Hello to all of the expert Disney travelers!

We are planning our vacation for after Thanksgiving as we speak. In quite a debate about the best dates to travel. In the past, we have been there the week of the football / cheerleading competition. And based on those past visits, we have never been eligible for any discounts during that time.

We are attempting to travel for as little financially as possible as we are working on a budget (as most people are). This time around, our family wants to be sure we are there when it is not crowded, when Christmas decorations WILL be up and when we would possibly, most likely, be eligible for some kind of special in the event one is even made available my Disney.

The weeks we are looking at right now would be 11/26/12-11/30/12 and 12/3/12-12/7/12.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

We like to arrive the Sunday after Thanksgiving. It can be a bit busy still but our usual late arrival allows us to go to dinner and head over to DHS for the Osborne lights. Starting on Monday, crowds have disappeared, the weather is beautiful and the fun is in full swing. Leave by the following Sunday, right when it starts to get busy again.

Never mind, scratch that. If my secret is divulged, it may no longer hold true, crowd wise.

Edit: and I always seem to get free dining.

We like to travel mid-week, Tue. or Wed. The fights are cheaper, the airports aren't so crazy, comming and going, check-in and check-out is easier than on the weekend. Also you only have to deal with one weekend rush. Use that as a down day. The dates are good, 20 min wait topps anywhere, you can get in to eat everywhere quickly.

I like your early December dates. I have been over those dates and with a good touring plan, you will be able to see everything you want to see. The Christmas decorations are up, the Christmas music is going, and all of the resorts are decorated. The crowds are not bad either. We love going during that time. Hope you have a magical time no matter what time you go!

I couldn't agree with this more. In my opinion this is a great time to go.

Thrilled that it sounds we are making a great decision on timing. Cannot wait to book this trip next month! It's been a long 3 years since our last visit!

This past trip, was our second time to arrive after thanksgiving, we love it! Crowds are ok, only time it was a hassle, was the following saturday, they were filming the Chritmas Parade in the Kingdom, if we had known that, we would have gone to another park...it was MADDNESS!
