I don't know if I am posting this in the right place. If not, I am sorry...:(

DH turns 50 next year, yup, he has an entire 10 years on me. The cradle robber he is has one wish for his 50th, IRELAND!

So ask and he shall receive, right? Why not....

I put a deposit down on Adventures by Disney, Ireland. The experience looks absolutely amazing and we are both very excited. I was wondering if anyone has done any of the Adventure by Disney Tours. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Next stop was really one of the highlights of our trip, the Jeanie Johnston :
On board the Jeanie Johnston we were introduced to your Story Teller Paul....AMAZING..
The Jeanie is a replica of a three masted barque that was originally built in Canada. The Jeanie Johnston made 16 voyages to North America without a single life lost!! This was all thanks to a kind captain and a gifted physician!

By this time we are all getting a wee bit hungry and it was off to the Guiness Factory for lunch and then a tour of the factory. There was a little suprise waiting for us at the end of the tour...

Uploaded with ImageShack.com

The tour was brilliant but...I am going to skip straight to the suprise...

We headed up to the Gravity Bar where the views were stunning and the beers weren't bad either...

By this time it is just about 2 pm and we have done soooo much! Now we had an option to spend the afternoon on our own or take an optional tour of the book of Kells and the Library at Trinity College.

I want to make a note here. I have been on other tours and optional always meant, the tour company will offer this tour to you but, it is at an extra cost. NOT Disney, it's your choice to go, it's included in your price but in this instance, Kelley and Kristin could only get us inside, they tour was up to us. It was fine, it was a beautiful walking tour. We could not take pictures of the Book of Kells by the Library is amazing. Looks a little Harry Potter(ish).

After the Library we were starving! We went back to the hotel to check in briefly with our Adventure Guides where where Kristin and Kelley recommended The FARM for dinner. http://www.thefarmfood.ie/ Excellent Choice!

We walked around the city a bit and passed thru the Temple Bar area this completed our list of things we wanted to see. We started to head back to the Westin. Day 3 is a busy one....

Day 3: Happy Fourth of JULY!!!

Up early, breakfast and on the road...
Long drive today so a stop for tea and scones are in order before we arrive at our destination. These treats, they tell me, were delicious and were included in our Adventure.

The home of St. Patricks Cross

We had time to stop for lunch and we were on our way...
The Killarney Park Hotel is amazing. Sort of reminded me of the Overlook Hotel, in a non creepy way..lol
Today is the fourth of July and there was a celebration! I know I have pictures, but, they are MIA at the moment! They served us up some red, white and blue cocktails. (Cosmo's, Martinis and Blue Martini's). They served up some delightful canape and we sang the Star-Spangled Banner. My Mom, you have to love her, asked the hotel manager, why they were celebrating the 4th? The managers answer was perfect, "you celebrate St. Patricks Day with us, we celebrate the 4th with you!" I am loving Ireland more and more each day! They had some WWII vechicles on the main street, a band playing and it was just a big party in the area.

Day 3 Continued...

We had most of the afternoon on our own, touring the town of Killarney! Then we had a scary ghostly encounter.....

Kristin gathered us all together for this frightful event!

We had the greatest story tellers! We had a lot of laughs and really were immersed in Irish Folklore! First stop was the lake house hotel. Folklore says this area is haunted by a young girl.

Next stop on our haunted adventure was the Mukross Abbey...

The Franciscan friary of Irrelagh, now known as Muckross Abbey was founded for the Observatine Franciscans about 1448 by Daniel McCarthy Mor. The friars remained in occupation at Muckross at least intermittently and despite the dissolution of the monasteries until Cromwellian times. The present well-preserved ruins include a church with a wide, square tower and fine windows, and a vaulted cloister with an arcade of arches around a square courtyard. In the middle of the courtyard grows an ancient yew tree, said traditionally to be as old as the Abbey. Muckross Abbey was the burial place of local chieftains, and in the 17th and 18th centuries, the three Gaelic poets, Geoffrey O’Donoghue, Aodhagan O’Rathaille and Eoghan Rua O’Suilleabhain. The graveyard in the grounds surrounding the Abbey is still in use with a number of burials there each year.
