I don't know if I am posting this in the right place. If not, I am sorry...:(

DH turns 50 next year, yup, he has an entire 10 years on me. The cradle robber he is has one wish for his 50th, IRELAND!

So ask and he shall receive, right? Why not....

I put a deposit down on Adventures by Disney, Ireland. The experience looks absolutely amazing and we are both very excited. I was wondering if anyone has done any of the Adventure by Disney Tours. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

@LuLaSue, I think you've made a wonderful choice for your vacation! My DH and I will be looking at vacations out side the US and want exactly the same kind of service and experience....i.e. we want to do it right since we don't know how many trips we will take to one specific location. Have a wonderful vacation and I am really looking forward to your blog/trip report!
Thanks @Pooh Lover!
I really want to document this one! It's a once in a lifetime..

Morning All!

Well DH's big Birthday in Ireland has arrived.
They players are Susan (Me), John (DH), Mom and Dad.
We are all packed and ready to go. We are both at work today and have a 4:15 pick up at the house. Mom and Dad are picking up Royal Crown Sandwiches (if your a Staten Islander, you know this sandwiches are delish) and John will pick them up and take them to our house around 3:30. We are fortunate they are only 10 minutes away from us.

The week before this trip, John got a serious sinus infection and is on the mend and I had a vein taken care of in my leg! The way I was feeling I didn't think this trip was going anywhere. Needless to say, I have a few sore spots but, I feel great!! I have to wear a compression hose on the airplane and take two asprin before take off and we are good to go.

When we arrive in Dublin, we have a free day until our reception dinner in the evening. I will be teaching a yoga class in a nearby holistic center. My mission is to teach yoga in each country I visit or State if traveling in America. This will give the family some time to rest. When I return we will be off and running.

I am not sure if I will be posting during our trip but, I will be documenting as I go along so I can come back with every detail!

I have not done and Adventures by Disney trip yet, we are looking at doing the new one to Prague, it looks fantastic. I will say that I have Googled and searched endlessly for a negative review of their tours, and I have not found a single complaint so far...not one!
I will give you a chuckle. I found one negative review and it was all about no airconditioning in the Castle. Errr...last I checked castles are old and I understand a/c isn't the same there as it is in the State even in the hotels. If that is the worst of it, we are in for the time of our lives.

oh yeah....I bet...DW so want to go traveling to all of these different countries and I just laugh, when I told her the other day about A/C being different or almost non existent in a lot of other countries, she thought I was making it up, now she is rethinking her summer trips.

Right now in Ireland it's averaging in the mid to high 60's everyday. Hoping it stays that way! ;)

Well, we are home for a few days now and had time to collect my thoughts and pictures. Not sure how this will work, but I will give it the old college try!

DAY 1 Adventures By Disney Emerald Isle:

We (Mom, Dad, Susan (ME) and John (The Birthday Boy)) arrive in Dublin about 7:30 ish.

We met with our Disney Representative who whisked us away to a Mercedes Benz Sprinter Van to the Westin Hotel in Dublin. We had no hopes of our rooms being ready as it was very early. I proceeded to the front desk and was told there were two rooms ready and waiting for us. As I turned around to tell the family the good news we were greeted by two of the friendliest faces, Kristin and Kelley, our adventure guides:

They prove to make this trip an Adventure!
We went to our rooms, napped for about an hour showered and stepped out to explore the City on our own until we had to meet for our welcome dinner at 5:30. Before we ventured out we met Kelley in the lobby and she handed me a list of restaurants that were vegan and carnivore friendly!!
We settled on:

Great choice! Veggies sandwich was delish! Dad and Mom had a warm goat cheese sammie they said was very good and Johnboy had hot roast beef with cheese on toasted bread! Our bellies were full and we were ready to move on. Fist stop:

Next we made our way to St. Patrick Cathedral:

Very beautiful but, I was disappointed they charged you to get into the church. Here in NY, entrance to St. Patrick’s is FREE, FREE, FREE!

We took to the streets and look what I found @real mad hatter

I stopped in, but you were not home!

We moved on to Dublinia. A wonderful exibit depicting the Vikings in Ireland the the
Medieval Times. Very well done and we enjoyed our time here.

We headed back to the Westin we were getting tired and we had to meet at 5:30 for our welcome reception.
Welcome reception was lovely. Buffet style for most but I was delivered a roasted red pepper stuffed with lentils over white asparagus. The wine was great and we got to meet the folks who soon would be life time friends!
It's off to bed. Early start tomorrow!
