Adventureland addition question...?

They could always move the JC to AK...and use the space at MK for something really cool....like an Incredibles ride. We need more Pixar at the parks....

I don't particularly think the original concept for Fire Mountain should be built, but I do like the idea of a mountain in Adventureland. Ideally, I would like to see the dark side of Fantasy Land built with Villain Mountain as the signature attraction and a dark ride (perhaps a redone Snow White's Scary Adventures). This will allow them to replace the current Snow White with something different.

Either of the maps for Adventureland pose a big problem for parades. Caribbean Way is the road that the parade floats take to step off for Spectro and from step down to the parade center for the day parades. Anything that would be build there would have to be positioned just right to prevent the blocking of that road. Basically, a Space Mountain type tunnel that goes under Caribbean Way.
Take a dive into the raging spirits thread I linked earlier. I plonked an at-scale RS/ToP attraction with ride building down, with plenty of space to re route the parade road / access road Actually, here it is. Not saying it can or should be like this / as big; just worst-case scenario should Adland ever be built out as far. Of course it`d need shielding from the Monorail / Seven Seas; especially Spectro! http://forums.wdwmagic.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=23441&d=1162489179

Was Raging Spirits scrapped or is it still a possibility in that space?

Its a possibility but not sure how likely. Incredibles has obviously been scraped because the Robot arm technology now belongs to Universal Studios which means the old Skyway Station and Carousel of Progress will not be getting torn down.

Unclear. It came through my inbox as a rumor for that space, or the one behind Main St.
I was later told by the designer of Raging Spirits that it would not come with that theme. The coaster could, in theory, be dropped in, but with a new theme.

I don't see anything big coming to the MK in a looong time... Not with all of the refurbishments that have been going on and are planned. :(

Just a question. How nessesary is the position of the backstage parking lot east of Main Street? If that could be moved to an area outside of the park with a shuttle bus to that area, then that parking lot could be used as the location for a large ride in Tomorrowland. Just my thoughts. Maybe a ride base on Meet the Robinsons if that movie is successful. Or even the Incredibles if the ride is themed right.

And Martin, what are you referring to when you say the berm? Is it the trees that separate backstage from the park and outside the park?

Not Martin, but.....the berm is the raised mound of land (with trees) that circles the park to prevent visual intrusion by backstage/real world areas.

I've been behind Adventureland alot, and the only area I can see as arguably feasible would be back behind the area between Jungle and Pirates. It would have to work with the train and use some creative contruction, but there aren't even really many access roads back there.

That said, it's a stretch.

OK...here's an idea...

How about taking the parade facilities and moving them to the west of the canal. Bridges could be built across the canal (there's already one) to access the area. That would free up alot of land for expansion.

If they ever did add anything new to adventurland, I would hope that it would be something worthwhile. Maybe like a incredibly themed roller coaster that can put everest to shame, or atleast come close to its greatness.

Good Idea, they already have one draw bridge back there, why not another one. The might have to align it in a way that it would not interfere with the floating parade barges(I always see it but do not have a clue what it is called).

Thanks for the response, I just wasn't exactly sure what it was with what he was referring to.

They would just reroute the canal like they did for Everest.

I think it would be more involved than that. The Electric Water Pageant needs the long, straight canal to pull into with its two strings of barges. They'd have to create an entirely new canal to the west, and not just make one that curves around any addition to the park.

I would like a Tarzan or Emperor's New Groove theme... though from a financial view, Tarzan would be a more likely candidate... $448 million world-wide.

Whatever is put back there, theme it around the railroad with some railroad-specific show scenes. It's seriously hurting through the whole Adventureland area. At least in Fronteirland you get a show. Of course, I love the whole ride no matter what (except for the addition of the Pocahontas song).

I would like to see Fire Mountain... not that I'd ride it. I'm a bit faint of heard. I kind of picture it as Big Thunder on steroids, with the queue being a polynesian temple to a fire god at the base. Would the burning red caldera be able to take the place of the red light needed to top any 300ft structure? If not, I'm sure it would be easy to hide a light inside and peak over 300.

On the other side, there's Bald Mountain in 20K. That would be great, although I'd also enjoy 20K back. Yes, I know. I wish too much. The funny thing is that the only time I've ever ridden 20K was when I was 6, and it friggin' traumatized me so bad. I know that I'd love it now that I'm older, though. Anyway, a Bald Mountain themed flume in the are would be nice, with some storyline involving the villains. Also, if you're going to add to Fantasyland, bring in Alice and bring back Toad!

If they do build another mountain...I'm doubting it will be 300ft.

Whatever they add I just hope it isn't based off a movie. In fact it would be nice if they think up an attraction, with a well developed unique story...with the intention of making a movie (or movie franchise) off the attraction in the future. Synergy can work for us!

Ah - as they used to do!

If anything, a mountain on the 20K plot would be more suited to a WRE style building... a detailed facade of a `table top` mountain around 4 stories high or so. A mountain peak in Fantasyland would begin to dwarf the castle and be out of place from the hub (DLC is well used to the Matterhorn) - the 20k plot is too close to onstage to be able to scale back such a building. Space Mountain works since a)sit is offset from Avenue of Planets and b) is outside the berm - double the distance of the 20K plot.

Can they go beyond the train tracks?
