Pre-Trip Adventure is out there!

6.6.2015: A beautiful day inside and out, filled with friends, family, and of course, Disney! And I married my best friend and my Mickey Mouse.
FotorCreated.jpg

'Happily Ever After' was the theme of our wedding, we danced to an instrumental version of Tale as Old as Time, and guests signed their names in balloons for an 'Adventure is out there!' guestbook.

While we're still reliving the magic of that day and night, we are also giddy with excitement of what's to come...

And not only "Until Disney"...but "Until Disney Land & Sea!" (C'mon Etsy, get it done!)

Let's get to it!

The Cast
Me and my husband (wow that's weird to say!) J. This will be our 6th trip to Disney together, and our 2nd Disney Cruise! Can't forget out babies, Goofy & Pluto.

The Story
In a nutshell, we had the honeymoon planned before the wedding. ;) We've been going to Disney every fall and it has always worked wonderfully for us. So yes, September is far away from June, but it'll be worth the wait in many ways. And considering how busy we've been since the wedding, I'm actually glad we decided against going on our honeymoon right away. It gave us time to open presents, write thank you notes, spend time with people, do all that paperwork stuff, and just appreciate the simple things. But now it's full steam ahead for the Disneymoon! And since this is a Disneymoon, this opportunity was practically screaming "MAKE ME A LAND & SEA TRIP!!!"

The Plan
7 days at Walt Disney World! We booked this trip as a Free Dining bounceback. It was nice to have the peace of mind that we wouldn't have to scramble to get the deal or resort that we wanted - definitely doing this again. :p

Speaking of resort...we're staying at Pop Century. I know - sounds very honeymoon-y doesn't it? :hilarious: We seriously considered upgrading our resort choice this trip, especially with all the Disney Gift Cards and $$$ we got as gifts but we just couldn't justify the cost. We spend all of our time playing. After much deliberation, we decided to save the deluxes for when we have children. It will definitely be more worth it then - in many ways.

Dining is all booked and I am very pleased. I'll make a subsequent post with a more detailed itinerary of each day with our choices. I love food. *sigh*

On Day 8, we will rent a car (perks of being 25 woohoo...) and roadtrip to Miami, FL. (Sounds romantic right? :D I'm actually pretty excited. Got my Disney music and my man - I'm good to go!)

We're spending the night at the Holiday Inn on Biscayne Boulevard, right by the Port of Miami.

Then it's onto a 4 night Bahamian Cruise on the Disney Magic! Our last Disney Cruise was on the Dream in 2012 and I've been itching to go [Disney] cruising so badly. On a different and reimagined ship at that! We have an Oceanview room which should be plenty adequate for us. We had a verandah on the Dream, but it was that nice plexiglass stuff. Not sure I would pay the same for the solid wall on the Magic. I caught the plexiglass bug. ;)

We'll be stopping at Castaway Cay, Nassau, and Key West. Everyone loves CC for obvious reasons, and we've never been to Key West, so there is plenty of adventure to be had! Our excursion booking date is coming up next week and right now, the big decision is...should we or should we not do the Atlantis Aquaventure? Expensive-yes, looks fun-yes, never-will-we-ever stay at Atlantis so when else would we be able try it? But then, is it even worth it? Topic of discussion this weekend. :)

Excited to eat at all the restaurants, to watch all the shows, to look fancy, and to spend all the time in the world together.

That's all for now! Thanks for reading - there will be more to come!

Amazing!!!!! This sounds so so fun! Will be following along!!! (I will be in Disney around the same time!)
Awesome!! It's a good time to go. And we're almost there! :D

sounds like it's going to be an amazing trip. I'll be following along for sure
Yay! Thanks for following along and hope you enjoy my ramblings & musings. :)

Sounds like a fun-filled trip! Congrats on your marriage! I hope my someday-husband loves Disney as much as I do.
Thank you!! Haha I converted him real good. But in all seriousness, I do feel really lucky to have someone to share the love of Disney with. :inlove:

Time to talk about food! Sweet (and salty, tangy, tasty, yummy) food! We love dining at WDW - not just for the taste, but moreso for the experience. Atmosphere and view are really important to us - we love to appreciate the details and the little things while we dine!

We are on the Standard Dining Plan. It's a lot of food, but we can (and love) to eat. :D

So here are our ADRs. And because I'm a planning aficionado, I'm even including pictures of what I want to eat...

Be Our Guest Restaurant:
My absolute favorite in the World. To dine right in the middle of my favorite Disney scene ever...is a dream come true. To dine here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner may sound crazy to some, but it sounds absolutely normal and a no-brainer for me. :p

Breakfast:

-OR-
be-our-guest-breakfast-croissant-doughnut-31.jpg

Ahh...the dilemma! Sweet or savory? Good thing I have J to order whatever I don't order! :D

Lunch:
Be-Our-Guest-Tuna-Nicoise-Salad.jpg

No contest. Next!

Dinner:
I'm on the fence - torn between trying something new or something that I really enjoy. However, the decision is easy for J:
Grilled-Strip-Steak-Be-Our-Guest-Dinner-600x520.jpg

Kona Café:
It's been a few years since we've been here, so we're excited to come back. Also want to check out the new Poly since it was under major construction last year. And there are so many tasty-sounding options on the menu! Shall I get the Togarashi Spiced Ahi Tuna, the Grilled Curry-crusted Lamb Chops, or the Pan-seared Duck Breast?! Decisions, decisions...but I know what I want for dessert:

I realized I don't eat enough fruit whilst at WDW. And while this seems so simple, it makes me salivate...

Mama Melrose's Ristorante Italiano:
I haven't been here in like 10 years! We usually stay away from Italian because we can actually somewhat cook it, but when we walked by Mama Melrose last year and smelled those smells...we were convinced.
Charred-Strip-Steak-1-Mama-Melrose.jpg

Mine! J is usually the steak eater in the fam, but I called this first!

Spice Road Table:
Wildcard choice of the trip. Haven't heard many reviews of the new menu, but we're always up for a new culinary experience and for exotic foods. Plus a beautiful view!
RACK-OF-LAMB-988x658.jpg

As you can tell, we would not be good vegetarians. Also, the desserts look so good. Here is J's pick:

Whispering Canyon Café:
We've never been here, and we're ready for some hearty food and fun! I'm the type of person who puts ketchup on ketchup...this should be interesting! I don't know what I'm going to order yet, but I do know I'm going to take advantage of these little refillable babies:
bottomless-milkshake.jpg

Yachtsman's Steakhouse:
This is J the Steak Lover's pick, and after seeing all the raves about it, I'm convinced he made the right choice. Plus it gives me a reason to visit my fave resort! J plans on getting the 18-oz Kansas City Strip Steak. I was thinking about getting lamb or chops, but then I was like 'this is a steakhouse - I'm gonna get me a steak!' I'm sure I'll find something...
f7dd5777196c4db07bb00a27fab83af6.jpg

If Crème Brulee is on the menu, there's a 99.9% chance that I'll get it for dessert.

So I'm hungry now...!

Congrats on your marriage! Love the Disney wedding theme :) I have my fingers crossed that one day I'll get to photograph a Disney themed wedding, or heck even shoot one AT Disney World!

Those food photos have got my tummy rumbling!

Thank you! And that would be so much fun! Of course we would have loved to get married at Disney, but I think I'd prefer to honeymoon there, just the two of us. :p That didn't stop me from creating my dream Disney wedding on their site anyways HAHA!

Congratulations on your marriage! Your Honeymoon looks like it is sizing up to be incredible. I love your dining choices, I had the steak w/mac and cheese at Mama Melrose on our last trip. I was so happy with the choice, the steak was cooked perfectly and the mac and cheese was heavenly.

Seriously, BOG lunch is my #1 craving always.

Food choices look wonderful! Now I'm hungry!!!

I would love BOG! It was not there the last time I was in Disney!
Ooh it is beautiful and right out of the movie! Did you get an ADR for your trip? It's near-impossible to get in without one.

If you are going to Whispering Canyons for breakfast, you must get the breakfast platter. All the eggs (and they are delicious, not the powdered eggs sitting under a warming lamp since last Tuesday kinda eggs), bacon (bacon!), sausage, waffles, biscuits and gravy you can eat. Plus ketchup.

Alas, we are going for dinner! (I guess I should have been more specific - everything here is lunch or dinner. We're grab & go breakfast people at WDW) but that does sound enticing. I'm thinking the All-You-Care-to-Enjoy platter & some of that gooey cake now! :D

BTW, I love your cake. Did you have a Disney wedding? I ask because my daughter is getting married at Disney (Italy, to be exact) next February and most of the cakes pictured on the wedding site are a little too ornate for our tastes. Yours is so elegant.

I'm honored you thought that :p but no, we didn't have a Disney wedding. We got married at the university where we met. The reception was heavily Disney-themed, that's all. The cake was actually baked by my aunt. And, congrats! What a beautiful location and I'm sure you can work with Disney Weddings to design a cake more to your tastes. :)

We just might hire your aunt... :)
