Adult ONLY late nights at Epcot

After running the Wine and Dine Half Marathon, there was an exclusive after race party at Epcot. Now this thing wasn't officially Adults Only, but I didn't see a single kid or teen in the park. It was an extra ticket and complementary with the race.

So, what I experienced there was a delight. An adult playground. Now I don't drink myself, but it was quite the enjoyable event. A feet different tone than the normal expanded extra magic hours.

So, I was just wondering if it would be a neat idea, maybe during F&W on Friday or Saturday nights. Maybe a $25 hard ticket event to be open til 2-3 am.

Maybe it could cut down on some of the insane crowd levels earlier in the nights.

Just an idea. What do you think?

As great as this sounds I am against it. Epcot does NOT need anything else to support the bad habits of its management in the slightest bit. Another hard ticket is further fudging the numbers of a dying park.

I think if it were more of a general rule rather than a hard ticket... it could work. Example: on Friday/Saturday nights, all the attractions and restaurants close at their normal time after the fireworks at 9/9:30. However, any bars and alcohol stands would continue to stay open til 1am/2am. Adults of age could still enter the park, but all other parties would be turned anyway; anyone underage already in the park would be denied service (and therefore encouraged to leave). After an hour or two of park closure the soundtrack could even switch over to something a little more beat-heavy. Maybe even have some of the dance areas used during New Years open up.

In other words, something similar to the Pleasure Island concept. It would make sense to have something like this since there really isn't any other nightlife anywhere on property.

Exactly. Pleasure Island 2.0.

The elbow room and pop music atmosphere made it really great.

And good gravy, at the post race party, they made TONS of$$$.

Lines were as long as a standard dinner time line at all the food booth even after 2 am. We waited almost 25 minutes at the Greek spot.

Disney makes the bulk of thier money on families with children. Adult only will not happen

Well, the average guest is already alienated from things like the African Trek (10 and up), Jellyrolls, any Run Disney longer distance event (14 and up).

Besides, how many kids want to be at Epcot eating and drinking around the world at 1 am with rides shutting down for kids after 9 pm or altogether anyways?

Not everything at Disney had to be 100% for kids.

You know what would be awesome...If there was an adult island where they would have clubs with music, dinner, drinking and dancing all up until about 2am. Heck they should have some kind of comedy club and a cast of adventurous seekers from the past...OH! and why not have New Years every night...It would be such a Pleasure to see something like this....Then again I guy can dream can't he?

I doubt Walt envisioned kicking people out of the Magic Kingdom at 7:00PM only to make them pay to come back in to ticketed events but that happens every October, November and December... never say never

Yeah, but remember the "ah ha!" moment for Walt was when he decided he wanted to make a place that the parents and kids could go to have fun together. Like I said, I would love the idea. I would have a blast at something like this. But I just think Disney is straying way too far from the original vision.

Believe me I agree with you...just saying if there is $$$ in it then it seems like they would sell Petey the dead parakeet to a blind kid (Dumb & Dumber reference...don't get offended folks!). The cash cow is going to get sore teats sooner or later!
