La Hacienda de San Angel, dinner- I ate there last month for dinner. I really enjoyed the food and the service was fine once I got seated. I had major issues with getting my table in a timely manner.

Splitsville - have a back up plan just in case this isn't opened yet by that point.

Sci Fi Diner, lunch- The food here is just ok, but I always have so much fun watching the movie clips and eating in a car.

Earl of Sandwich, lunch - outstanding sandwiches. I am never let down by this place

Liberty Tree Tavern, dinner - I know a lot of people don't like the quality of the food here, but I know going in that it is stouffer's quality. It is comfort food and I love it. I always have fantastic service there.

Jiko, dinner - A truly signature experience. Service, wine pairings, delicious food. I love this place.

La Cava - The margaritas here are so tasty. The place gets really crowded, so sometimes I take the drinks to go.

Ohana breakfast - it's ok, it's nice that the food is brought to you, but it's average breakfast food, we mostly go for the characters

Sci Fi - we like this place. Is it the best food ever, no. The ambiance is great and the food is good. DH had the picnic burger and loved it.

Liberty Tree Tavern - we also enjoy this place. It is good comfort food. Again not the best ever, but not bad either.

Cape May Cafe Dinner - This is a lot of fun. The food is good, the atmosphere is a loud and the kids can draw on the paper table cloths.

Jiko - amazing dinner, enjoy

Biergarten - lots of fun, make sure catch the band, the food is good too

Ohana Dinner - the food is good, the atmosphere is fun and there are activities for the kids, the wait can be long so get a Lapu lapu from the bar and relax.

Libery Tree vs 1900 Park Fare - both are good, it just depends on what you are looking for, also for 1900 you have to leave the park, the characters there are great and so is the food.

Now I'm hungry too! Enjoy

Looks like a good mix of park and resort, I don't have many alternatives to suggest without just pimping my favorites.

I would probably swap out San Angel Inn proper for La Hacienda, but if you're dining in the restaurant in the hopes that you'll get a good Illuminations view, then stick with Hacienda. You're only going to get a view of a fake volcano and a black ceiling inside the pyramid. I think the food inside is better, but not enough to sacrifice the lakeside location, if that is what is really important.

The other thing I would nix is Liberty Tree. It's pretty much the definition of mediocre. The only restaurant I would humor staying in the Magic Kingdom for is the Plaza, and it's not exactly an impressive dinner location. If you have to stay in the park or really want to eat there, sure, keep Liberty Tree. Otherwise, you'll do a lot better at pretty much any restaurant on the resort monorail loop. My picks for casual dining would be Kona and the Grand Floridian Caf, and my picks for signature would be California Grill or Citricos.

Personally (and thats all these really are in the end i guess right?) we like Restauranasaurus breakfast and Crystal Palace breakfast better than Ohana. Crystal's food (breakfast) is second to none in our opinion. I think the Restaurantasaurus Character Breakfast was replaced by Tusker House...cant vouch for that one. Other than that your choices are wonderful. Enjoy

Thanks for your suggestions! Liberty Tree Tavern is scheduled for the evening we have EMH at MK until 12am so we will need lots of food to keep us going! I'll have a look at Kona and GF Cafe...or 1900 Park Fare?
Cali Grill is closed for rehab!!:( So giving Jiko a shot!

IMO, you cannot go wrong trying the stuff YOU want to try. Even if it is Tony's, lol, everyone should follow their own bliss.

Enjoy!

We used to go to 'Ohana for dinner on every trip until we discovered Kona Cafe at the Polynesian. I find the atmosphere to be quieter and a greater variety of food and the desserts are awesome. I also take great pleasure when I check-in for our ADR and usually get seated within minutes as I am looking over at the crowd of people waiting to get into 'Ohana. If you were planning on viewing Wishes during your dinner at 'Ohana, you can always eat dinner first and then go out to the beach to see Wishes.
