Additional Fantasmic/AC/Ragland Road Questions...

As it appears the show will be down the first week of November, our only option would be to go on Halloween night. We are not planning to go to MNSSHP, so this will be an available option; however, more questions arise.

We were planning on leaving the MK on Oct. 31 around 5pm (due to the MNSSHP) to go change and head over to PI to do the Adventurer's Club (we've never been there either).

Questions:

1.) What time does Fantasmic start ?? - DS is open until 7pm on Oct. 31.

2.) How long does the bus take to go from the MK to DS?? (We've never done that before)

3.) If we're planning on heading to the Adventurer's Club after Fantasmic, would it be better to change before going to the DS or after the show and before going to PI??? (This question relates to the time it takes between all of the routes.....and the wife-to-be insists that we will change before going to the AC)

Bonus Question:

4.) We are planning on eating at Ragland Road before going into the AC. Is this a good idea?? [We're not really sure what is open at PI right now and we have not eaten at RR before....I am of irish descent, however. :)]

Thanks for all of the help.

Change before you go to MGM. If MGM closes at 7:00 then Fantasmic will start at 7:00. If you are using Disney transportation then I would allow for at least 1 hour to transfer between parks. You will want to get to MGM as close to 6:00 as possible in order to line up for Fantasmic. There is no direct transportation from the parks to DTD. In order to save time I would take a cab to DTD. Otherwise you will have to take a bus to a resort and then another bus to DTD. Ragland Road is a great restaurant. By the time you get there the music will be in full effect. You will need to make reservations beforehand. AC will be in doing their Special Halloween show which is incredibly funny.

You are trying to fit a bunch of stuff into 1 evening. If you can see Fantasmic on another night I would. You can do an earlier dinner at Ragland Road and then head straight to AC.

My advice? You're cutting things awfully close if you intend to leave MK at 5, go back to your room to change, see Fantasmic at 7 and THEN go to Pleasure Island.

The good news is, Adventurer's Club has scattered shows throughout the evening, and people come and go (though some people stay the entire evening), so you don't have to break any land speed records to get to Pleasure Island.

The bad news is, depending on the time of year, Fantasmic can get really crowded, even SRO, and you're leaving yourself precious little time to get there. I'm sure at this time of year, getting a seat isn't as much of an option, but there ARE people who stake out seats 2 hours in advance.

If you must do everything you intend to do that night, I'd say you're better off going from MK at 5 directly to the Studios, and watch Fantasmic from a, shall-we-say, less than optional location (in other words, somewhere close to an exit, where you can bolt as soon as the show is over and beat the crowds back to the busses). Then go back to your room to clean up, get 9:30 reservations at Raglan, and spend the rest of the night at AC. You should be able to catch between 1 to 3 shows there, and be thoroughly exhausted to do anything else the next day. But you will have done everything you wanted to do on Halloween night.

Raglan Road is an excellent choice. We had dinner there for the first time on our recent trip Sept. 22 and very much enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere. And if you are of Irish descent, then by all means go.

Don't miss the AC... We love it, and end every evening there on our WDW vacations. If nothing is going on when you get there, just have a drink and wait a few minutes. Something will happen soon in the main salon, treasure room, mask room or library.

Have fun and kungaloosh!

What if...

To make things a bit easier, I'd recommend rather than starting at the Magic Kingdom you simply spend that whole first day at the Disney-MGM Studios instead.

That way, you can spend the day at the studios and not have to worry about rushing to make Fantasmic! because you'll already be right there in the park. You'll probably want to get to the theather between 6:00 and 6:30 to catch the show which (I checked to make sure for ya) is in fact at 7:00pm that night.

After Fantasmic!, you can take the bus back to your resort, freshen up, then hop on a bus to take you to PI. Fantasmic should end around 7:30 and including travel and changing time, you could probably make it to Raglan Road (excellent restaurant--the food, service, and entertainment are top-notch.) between 9:00 and 9:30. Assuming you really take your time and enjoy yourself over at Raglan Road, that still gives you about 3 solid hours to enjoy the Adventurers Club which is open until about 2:00am nightly.

Hope that helps, let me know if you have any other questions.

Raglan Road is one of my new favorite places to eat on property. The food is yummy yummy yummy. If you're a 'drinker' try the Irish Sangria - it's to DIE for!!
