Adding Free Dining Later?

Fievel

My wife and I booked later this year when bounceback dining was offered.

Today, my parents informed me that if they can get free dining that they'd be interested in coming along.

My question is this - if they book using their Disney Visa, can they add the free dining code if it becomes available sometime in April? I know you can add other codes after a trip has been booked, so long as no other discount was applied.

Thanks in advance :)

Hey, just wanted to give you a heads up... I received the pin code for free dining and when I was booking my trip yesterday, the women told me that I was one of the lucky ones and that they would not be offering FREE dining this year to the general public. I don't know how true this is, but wanted to let you know what I heard.

Hey there Disneygirl, We have not been advised officially if this will be offered or not other than the PIN Codes that have been distributed. I cannot stress enough that no deals are definite until they are released officially by Disney. Any of the deals that are released generally tend to be kept very quiet until the actual release date. Hi Belle! I totally understand and agree, I just wanted to pass on what Disney Reservations told me. I do hope that Free dining is offered. It is a great deal and think that especially in today's economic hard times saving $$$ would me most welcoming to those going to Disney. Have a good evening.

So how would I get the free dining pincode now? Is it just random? I have been very worried that they are not going to offer the free dining again to the public due to the economy's rising food costs, and the fact that it already came out last year for this year. We are going back to Disney in September and waiting to book until April to see if the free dining is offered.

If I were you, I would go ahead and book your trip now for September. When the, or if the, free dining is offered for this time, you can call your agent to apply the free dining. At least that's what my travel agent told me. We too, are going in September and hoping for the free dining plan or the promotion of buy 4 get 3 nights free to be extended through September !!!!!

Hi Chrissy, I agree with you, if and only if, you are planning to do the trip regardless of any discounts being offered. Booking a hotel room at rack rate and then waiting for a discount is not necessarily the best idea. The resort and the room category you have booked is NOT guaranteed to be available with the discount if and when one is offered so you may end up changing resorts, dates, or not being able to get a discount at all. If you arent willing to do the trip regardless, I would hold off and see what is offered and make my decision then. Also keep in mind that booking a hotel room, if anything, may decrease you chances for getting a discount. If enough people book at a certain resort, or in a certain time frame, a discunt may be either VERY limited or non existent for that hotel on those dates. At that point, if a discount is offered, you would have the option of switching dates, resorts or both to obtain the discount, ( which kinda puts you back in the wait and see mode) or paying full rack rate for the package you already have with the dates and resort you have planned on. If you have made any other plans around that such as airfare, you may NOT be able to change your dates and would then be stuck. Belle
