Account Suspended?

I've had too much time on my hands today and while looking through a ton a threads I've noticed quite a few suspended accounts? How does that happen? Are the users inactive or is it for causing fight or being inaproprate or what? Just Wondering....

Those were people that didnt know how to act in public. It takes a significant infratction of the rules to get suspended. We have very fair moderators and administrators.

Believe me, some of those suspended deserved what they got - having been on the sharp end of a thorny one myself....

Buy yes, you have to really push it and ignore multiple warnings to be kicked off.

Nope - just one nasty person who seemed to enjoy personal attacks and diving into a thread to pick on peoples opinions. There`s still one or two around like that but not nearly as bad. I had a run in a few times with him. I gave as good as I got, which he didn`t seem to like.

He basically targeted anyone whose philosophies on any topic did not match his own. His tone was almost always aggresive and offensive...

There are people who post on forums, such as names already mentioned who will disagree with whatever you say. It doesn't matter what you say, they will disagree with it on principle and pick an argument. Just the way it is I'm afraid, part of the price of internet anonymity.

And some people just don't see the fun in picking arguments on message boards!

There were others that were suspended for either political rants or for shamless advertising. We've even seen a few idiots promoting other websites full of hate speech. Sometimes it only takes one post to be banned.

How freakin inappropriate. That would annoy me....big time.

Though the forum has its occasional nuisances, it is a truly great community, so I think all that we can do to honor it is forget those since suspended and move forward in a more fun, argument free environment! :sohappy:

I've been pleasantly surprised how well the forum has been getting along lately. Not too many antagonistic posters. For a while, we were having a couple a week. It's much better now. Thanks mods!
