Accident at LMA today?

There are a couple of posts on another messageboard from people that were at DHS today that both claimed that the show was cut short and that there was a motorcycle crash. There are some reports that the injured actor/CM/stuntperson was life flighted out of there. There are even some reports that the actor/CM/stuntperson died.

Does anyone here have any credible info on this? I have searched online Orlando news outlets with no results. TIA

If true, prayers for the CM and his/her family.

He did not die: http://www.wesh.com/news/17871722/detail.html

Read they believe he broke his hip.

This is from a post I read of someone that was at the show: We were at this show and it was very scary. It was a motorcycle rider who did a jump and when he landed on the other side the back tire caught something and the bike flip forward and over. he went flying, flipped and landed on the ground. At first I thought it was part of the show and was saying that I couldn't believe they did a stunt like that without a bag or something to land on. Of course it turned out it wasn't part of the show. Then as previous posters have said they brought out the tent to surround him. The rest of the show was cancelled and they ushered us out. Asked a few CM's about it and they all claimed they knew nothing. except one CM at the Indy show who told us he had been airlifted out to the hospital so it was probably not good.

The above is from Disboards

Best wishes out to the CM and family for a speedy recovery.

The bad part about a stunt show is that it has a high risk potential. Hopefully this will be the last one for a long time.

I wish him well and a quick recovery! Those guys and girls out there really risk their lives to put on one of the best shows at WDW, and have my tremendous respect .

Bummer. Accidents will happen though.

I wonder how the show will suffer because of this. Most of the time it seems like they dumb down a show to make it supposedly safer. Hope that doesn't happen.

That's too bad. We were there in Jan about 3 years ago and there was an accident towards the end of the show with the car.

We couldn't tell originally if it was part of the show or not. However, one of the cast members mic was hot and we could tell by his comments it wasn't part of the show. They brought the tent out and ushered us out of the "set". It scared the heck out of my daughter.

:-(

That's sad.. I hope the person isn't too seriously hurt.. It was definitely a matter of time though, and I'm sure it may not be the last time either, they really pull off some dangerous maneuvers. This is by far my favorite show, probably in all WDW, I hope it doesn't scare them into pulling it.

i doubt it. Indiana Jones is a pretty spectacular show as well. one mistake there could be deadly as well. We must remember that these guys are professionals that probably come from doing this work for a long time. Other than the motorcycles, they are pretty safe in those cars and they practice their moves over and over again. I hope he will be back performing soon!

In my personal opinion, I wish they'd close this show and put something else a little 'safer' in.

I know a lot of people don't care for this show but I think it is tremendous and I really appreciate the complexity and the fact that it could be dynamic if they so desired. I'd rather they change some elements to make it potentially safer than to just remove it on a whim (which I don't think they'd do -- everyknew knew it was dangerous from the get go)

I hope the stunt person is okay!

The danger is what makes the show exciting. If you want "safer" go on the Dumbo ride. The whole point of the show is to perform dangerous stunts. Sometimes accidents happen. If the stuntmen wanted a safer job, they would be a Backstage Studio Tour bus driver.
