Personally do not object to the concept here but it's removal indicates a great new direction for the park. Very exciting.

The busts will be relocated and sounds like will still be available to the public. What will be interesting is the fate of the footprints. Preserved? Auctioned? Relocated? Destroyed?

Anyway, while time for a new chapter at DHS, Bob Newhart is still a comedic genius.

I can't remember, are the foot prints in that area, or are they over by the Great Movie Ride entrance?

Well as long as this statue and plaque remain for the rest of the park's duration then I personally will be happy

The handprints/footprints are over by GMR. The only thing in this plaza was the busts and a few plaques on the back wall. Plus some awkward half-walls that made the walkway quite narrow.

I think it's a good move, seemingly that they are adding food options here. I just hope the Walt Disney bust stays, or a new statue gets made for him for somewhere else. Kind of random, but I just wish Hollywood Studios would get a water ride like Grizzly River Run or Splash.

The remaining handprints of the celebrities are at the Theater of the Stars (BaTBLoS)..

And whenever they rename the park again they can have an overlay over another overlay over the original dedication plaque.

I seriously HOPE NOT this was a special historic perspective of Disney history it's removal will be VERY VERY DISAPPOINTING. The area that these tributes take nothing away as far as room at the Studios and we will sorely miss this area. I can understand it if they moved it to The Great Movie Ride area there is plenty of room there. Why is there so much interest in removing "HISTORY" from our culture ? Walt Disney should NEVER be forgotten as well as the stars that so many of us have grown up with. Progress be "DAMMED" keep these iconic tributes in the park, after all NOT everything is "Stars War" related.

I can't get over how bizarre all of this is? Like, was anyone here expecting a restaurant?
Its not going to be a restaurant, more like a hot dog or popcorn cart.

The MK has two popcorn / drink / snack locations in the hub, but at DHS I don't think there is much close by to grab a drink when waiting for the nighttime spectacular, this should be a good addition for that purpose.

The central hub at Studios actually has 3 popcorn stands, a pretzel/churro cart, an ice cream cart, Min and Bill's, and the Brown Derby Lounge, but I digress. A food cart still wouldn't be a horrible idea as long as it's in the same vein as Echo Lake Eats and doesn't just sell the same old food that you expect from a Disney food stand.

I'm guessing I just couldn't see them from where I was watching the fireworks then :)

But yes I agree, a food stand that isn't hot dogs, funnel cakes or popcorn would be nice.
