honestly, the part about the kid is irrelavent. IMHO if he was over 12 and does not have a mental disability its his own dang fault, people need to learn the consequences of their actions and not shielded from them. We are going to eventually be breeding a race of idiots who will do anything that pleases them without a thought to anything else. ( gets off soapbox. )

In regards to the croc, disney is at no blame for that. Disney should not have to account for idiots.

I find it funny that you all are blaming a child for this, yet it was the parent who was holding them up. Also isn't it Disney who is "abusing" the animals by locking them up in cages and ripping them out of their natural habitat? I'm not saying I agree w/ that statement, but it's pretty shocking to read some of the outrageous comments on this thread...

i look at it this way: it is better for the animals to be in the animal kingdom than the outside world where they are killed for their skin, tusks, horns, etc by poachers. in the AK they are out of harms way-which i prefer!

im glad AK has animals that are endangered and nearly becoming extinct coz it stops stupid idiots from killing them for no good reason and at leats they are safe there.

but it is a different story if you are in danger of being attacked by an animal.

Well the original poster stated that they coudl care less if the child was killed because they were "old enough to know better." Give me a break. If the parent told them it was ok to do then I don't see how you could blame the kid. Even if the kid did this out of his own free will its still the parents fault for not doing anything about it.

Yep, that's exactly how I said it and what I meant. I guess it's pretty clear who the horrible monster is in this situation. Not the "kid", not the parent, not the mob of people that not only didn't do anything about this, but assisted in the abuse....nope...it was the guy who notified the cast member about what was happening and then quietly left the area.

Since we're already way off topic here, maybe we should discuss at what age you start taking responsibility for your own actions? Everyone here seems to assume that this "kid" was taken out of a stroller and tossed over a fence.

Ok nobody said you were a "horrible monster" but with your posts you sound like some PETA extremist. I mean I understand your concern for the animal but to say that you don't care if a child gets hurt is just not right. Once again I think it's great that you were angry at the parents, but why blame the child for his stupid parents? BTW like I said if Disney didn't want this to happen they would better shield their animals....

PETA extremist? Well, I'm pleased to say that's a first. I'm sure that if you look at every behavior, every act of kindness or violence, we can always trace it back to the parents and to the persons upbringing. When does it end? "Oh that Jeffrey Dahmer, his parents must have been awful!"

I've already explained this even in further detail, it's buried somewhere in this completely off-track thread. I don't believe the "kid" in question was THAT young. And do I have to be an extremist to side with an animal behind a steel enclosure being tormented by people standing at a safe distance away (even though one climbed over the first of 2 fences)?

<O:pIf someone was actually in REAL danger I wouldn't have casually walked up to a cast member and explained what was happening. I think there would have been a little more urgency. However I'm not going to pretend to care or understand why this "kid", his parents (or whoever they were), as well as the other onlookers were taking pleasure in tormenting an animal. Why should I care about these people, however young and 'innocent' as it has been perceived in this forum. Chances are, people exhibiting such ruthless and reckless behavior in public are capable of doing far worse in an arena where they may not get caught.

<O:pLife is too short to have to find reasons to apologize for people's behavior. I'm sorry that my original thread brought pictures of little innocent babies being dangled over a Crocodile pit. That certainly isn't what I saw. I don't see why it's so horrible to side with a helpless creature, human or animal, over a group of tormenters...whatever their age.<O:p</O:p
