We need a little help.

We're planning on 8nts at BWV. We're getting DDE. On the day of our arrival, we are first going to USF. We will wind up with three extra meals at the end of our trip because the 1st day we will be eating at USF. Here's where we need the help. If it was you, would you-

1.) use your extra full service meal for a character breakfast (we are doing Chef Mickey's breakfast already) or use it for a full service lunch and then eat a full service dinner

or

2.) use it at, along with another coupon, a "Signature Restaurant"

If you pick the 2nd choice, please elaborate your reasons.

I'm leaning on the 2nd choice and we're thinking about The California Grill or The Flying Fish.

As always, thanks.

Personally, I'd do Hoop-Dee-Doo with the extra credit... although I tend to be more of an "entertainment" person... it is a fabulous show! Last time we went I laughed so hard my face hurt (although, the cast did go "off book" in the last third of the evening... maybe that accounts for the extra-funny show!?). The food is great too... more homey than gourmet.

For a "signature" restaurant, we like the Yachtsman Steakhouse. :^)

Are you interested in hype or great food? Because those two are big on the atmosphere, but the meals often leave something to be desired. I eat at WDW a lot, and far better would be Citricos or Jiko, IMO.

I have not eaten at a lot of the signature restaraunts so take this with a grain of salt.

I have eaten at Ohana's and we sat next to the windows and got to watch the fireworks at MK during our meal. The play the music for the show in the rest. Experience was great. I will be going back.
The Food! I have paid well over $26.99 each for a meal but I have not had many meals if any that tasted better and in such mass. They just keep bringing it out. For 2 people I spent $70 and was worth every penny. That is what I would do. Make sure you try to get a reservation that will have in the rest. during the fireworks. Then, don't tell the rest of your party. They will love the surprise.

I vote for Jiko. You can hit a steakshop anywhere. It is very quiet and the waiter did a really great job of "pacing" the meal. Better than anywhere we went at WDW ever. When a course was leaving -- the next was up. That, to me, is AWESOME SERVICE. We had an early reservation at 6 and there were only 3 other tables w/people. CHICKEN VERY YUMMY!

As for the original question, fav restaurants, well I have a fair few that are on the Dining Plan:

California Grill
Jiko
Boma
Citrico's
Le Cellier
Mitsukoshi Teppanyaki
Nine Dragons

another option you might want to consider is the Hollywood Brown Derby.

WIthout even thinking about a second choice, my favorite by far is Raglan Road down on PI. Best menu, best food, and best atmosphere of all the restaurants.

My family really likes to just eat counter service most of the time, but our favorite restaurant other than counter service is the Biergarten. However, some people just aren't fans of German food like I am, but if you are, this is the place!

We have several favorites or rather must do places. On every trip we do Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch, Rose & Crown Pub for dinner and a meal at Akershus. I prefer lunch or dinner, breakfast is nice but I hate paying a ton for breakfast for some reason.

A new must do has become Brown Derby but this is only our second trip doing that as it was our last one that we tried it for the first time.

Think.....Think.....Think.....

I suppose it would really depend on personnel preference:

1) We are a family of five and love the Hoop-De-Doo because the kids just about fall out of their chairs laughing. The food is down home country cooking (we are from Indiana) and there is lots of it. We bury ourselves with pictures from the night and remember it long after the evening is over and the bill is paid.

2) Now if it was just my wife and I and relaxing and casula was the agenda for the evening then I would have to say the Rose and Crown in the England portion of Epcot. The food is excellent and sitting on the terrace and looking out over the water with a light breeze blowing with the one you love is hard to beat.

I know this may not help, but those are just two ideas from a Disney fanatic in Indiana. Good luck and have a fantastic trip.

We've never been to a signature restaurant, so I can't help you there. The last time we were there, we had too much food at many restaurants. A full lunch and dinner would be too much for us. I'm planning Kona Cafe for breakfast, skip lunch, and Le Cellier or Coral Reef for dinner(our favorites) for our next trip:) .

Me? I wouldn't eat at USF - well, not much anyway. I would leave there early and have a late dinner at the restaurant in my hotel. That would use the table service. Then you would just have an extra counter service and snack left over, which you can work in another day. To me it just seems silly to pay for a meal when there is a pre-paid Disney dinner waiting for me. (Note: I've never eaten at USF, so I don't know if maybe there are wonderful meals to be had there as well.)

As far as food, Raglan Road was definitely my favourite.

But for the overall experience...I ADORED the Biergarten. That place was AMAZING...

...as long as you can get past the overwhelming smell of saurkraut xDD
