Abandoned Areas

So I was randomly watching videos on youtube about the Blue Angels and this little gem came up. It appears that Adam never meant it when he said he was going to be good. @PhotoDave219, I think you can pass this along to whomever it may be useful. Seems like he's in areas he shouldn't be..

Seems to me that the area he is in is publicly accessible. No barriers/safeguards whatsoever. It also appears that what he is doing is 100% harmless, and actually quite interesting if you had no prior knowledge.

Does this video really bother you so much that you wish for other posters here to tattle on him for taking videos of an open and accessible road at WDW?

He's got other new videos, this isn't the only one. This guy has a track record for pushing his luck in areas he shouldn't be in. The last thing he should be doing is going back snooping. Just because you could do something, doesn't mean you necessarily should... especially if you're under the watchful eye of the mouse to start with.

It just goes to show that he hasn't given up doing what he did before and this is good warning for TWDC that he's starting all over again.

Dude, I cant even get legal to pay attention to companies having Disney princesses show up to Birthday parties or a walk around Olaf.

Still, I'll see whom I can find to pass it to.

FWIW the STOL port is not a publicly accessible road anymore - well not beyond the parking lot where OCSO hangs out running radar. I think i was detoured down it once in 2004-ish due to an accident, but thats before it was turned over to WDI for the Fantasyland construction projects.

Its no longer a publicly accessible area. However i suspect that Disney simply does not care.

Didn't realize it was off-limits. I guess there is posted signage?
Seemed pretty clear in the video that there weren't signs saying anything to that effect. I haven't noticed any new signs put up but then I haven't driven in there in a while. They use it pretty regularly for overflow parking for different things. In fact just a few months ago the guy who bought a monorail and brought it with him while he was staying at the Polynesian was asked to park there so as not to draw attention.

Other things? Like renting a boat to look around the lagoon? Taking photos of the lack of anything happening in the Hollywood Studios "backlot" from the stands in Lights Motor Action? The old problem was he went backstage, here he's going out of his way to show he isn't.

Look..... I'm not going to turn this thread into About whatever That chuckleduck does with his time. I simply don't care.

If he wants to taunt the powers that be, that's his issue. I've got bigger fish to fry.

I really wish that all of these threads about abandoned areas would get locked as soon as someone brings up Adam the Woo. I like his videos, he got caught breaking the rules, and paid the price for it, and yet every time his name comes up the witch hunt is on again. "Ooh, he's in an area that I think he shouldn't be, I'm going to tattle on him like some third-grade teacher's pet!" Enough already. Do you really think that he would risk a another lifetime ban at this point? And why are people jumping on his back about an area that is not off limits, when there was a poster earlier in this thread that admitted to trespassing in an area that is off limits?

Yeah, if we're talking about egos... look at the DarkSideDisney people.

Adam was just an enthusiastic fan who pushed his luck. Also for those of you who have only seen his Disney videos, his main shtick is not to sneak around Disney. He is an urbex explorer and finds really awesome abandoned places all over the country.
I absolutely agree. Dark Side of Disney has an ego and his personality and goals are not to my tastes. Adam has some really interesting inside facts about Disney. Love the Woo!

As a bit of a history buff when it comes to Disney and WDW I love things like. I get why some disagree with what people like this do and it must be a bit of a headache for Disney security to have to contend with but I find videos like this to be interesting to watch; I've been down that highway hundreds of times and never knew there used to be a runway there. I thought the video he did in River Country was brilliant too.

I'd never wonder off into backstage or restricted areas myself but if others want to take that risk and share glimpses of abandoned or forgotten WDW history then I'm always curious to see what they find.

No, he was recently re-instated. I think he had a lawyer help him clear his name. He has a YouTube channel (look up Adam The Woo) and a video that explains the events that happened to get his name removed from Disney's banned list.

I know of his YouTube page, at the time at which I posted this.. I don't think he had gotten his name removed.

Adam was banned at one point but his ban has since been lifted. He has been multiple times to Disneyland and also recently this year again at Walt Disney World. I have seen many posts of his on Periscope.

I'm seeing a big red flag. Is Disney setting him up for an arrest? Just seems odd he was served a restraining order from TWD and now it's suddenly lifted. I'd be very careful.

Trespass warning aren't exactly retraining orders. He was issued a trespass warning, meaning if he went on property he could be arrested for trespassing. Disney has rescinded this trespass warning in writing, meaning they can't arrest him for simply being on property. They basically reset the process, they would need to again issue him a trespass warning. In any case seems as though he's is being very careful and not going anywhere off limits. Being that he lives out of state now apparently I think his trips to WDW will only be the occasional vacation.
