Abandoned Areas

I know. I just hate it when I hear that. I feel like the current leadership is money hungry and looking for a quick fix. I guess I'm a purist. Land leases I'm ok with though. ;)

We are also assuming that he did not have direct permission to be there, this could be incorrect. Given his past I think it's highly likely he asked if this was ok or did this at a time when it was directly open to the public. STOL port really isn't that special and certainly not worth risking getting banned again and it would be so very easy to get access to this with Disney's explicit permission.

That is a possibility too. He may ask ahead of time now. Same thing for when he filmed the wave machine. Maybe he asked "hey,. how close am I allowed to get to the island and not get in trouble"

I didn't even know he did a video for the wave machine. I do believe though they tell you when you rent the boats how close you can get, it's been a while since I've done it so I don't remember for sure. In any case the wave machine and STOLport are both very safe subjects for an abandoned area vlogger so I would assume he is playing it extra safe these days with Disney.

Abandoned attractions are so fascinating. During daylight boat rides on Bay Lake, I'm always looking at either River Country or Discovery Island for a glimpse of something rotten - kind of like whiplash....

And then I grieve for the EPCOT Center of my childhood.

Somebody posted a link to one of his videos, and I followed it, and saw the wave machine video. I watched it because the wave machine itself interested me, not the fact it was abandoned or off limits. I am just interested in the mechanics of them.

He took the boat out there and you basically saw nothing. He and his friend just sailed around for a bit, made some stupid jokes, took some nausea inducing shaky video, and called it a day.

I have taken boats out in SSL and they do tell you not to go onto any land or past the marker buoys. There are marker buoys by the old wave machine. I have seen people run boats on land - mainly by the water bridge when they have to give way to a WL launch. They drift, get caught in the wake (they do make a small wake, even though it is a no wake zone) and end up pushed into the reeds. Security comes by and pulls them out - not quite a sea tow, but interesting to watch anyway.

Haha, yeah that sounds like him. I'm not a fan and really don't follow his videos, not so much because I'm opposed to what he does but rather the quality of his work. He did a video at a shopping center right by my house and tried to pass it off as an abandoned theme park, it was really funny to watch having first hand knowledge of what it was and that it was literally just a shopping center development nothing more.

So I was randomly watching videos on youtube about the Blue Angels and this little gem came up. It appears that Adam never meant it when he said he was going to be good. @PhotoDave219, I think you can pass this along to whomever it may be useful. Seems like he's in areas he shouldn't be..

I land on that runway all the time in Flight Simulator X. I thought most people here knew that there was a runway there.
