Trip Report A Year of Disney!

It is official I have fully given into the Disney Lifestyle.

I have been meaning to do a trip report from about 9 months now! Here is a link to my pre-trip report, A year of Disney which explains what my year of Disney was all about.

Background:

It is just DH & I for our awesome and wonderful year of Disney. We decided at the end of 2014 to get season passes and try to do as much Disney as we can this year. Before this year I had never eaten a table service meal or stayed on property as an adult. It is a year of firsts!

I also make all of my own Mickey ears and I try to make new ones for each trip!

Trip 1: January 2015
Resort:
3 nights at Art of Animation

Besides the long walk to and from the main building (which is pretty far). This hotel was amazing the room was so wonderfully themed and clean. The buildings really immersed you into each movie, it was great. Landscape of flavors was pretty great too!

Food: We ate at O’hana (AMAZING), Saana (awesome), Yak & Yeti (a favorite), and 50’s prime time (so cute)

This was a great food trip, I won’t be able to go to long without trying these again! Each one was so different then the last and we had great service and delicious meals throughout.

Some first accomplished: Seven dwarfs mine train, illuminations, Beauty and the Beast Show, Dumbo (as an adult), Lion King Show, and flight of wonders.

Random days: Between February and May I got my Mom a florida resident 3 day pass and we drove (1.5 hours) and visited 3 times for just the day. The only first I could think of is going to Tony’s town square for my birthday, it was a ton of fun. We also experienced the flower and garden festival. You can see some of the ears I created below. I made my mom Sugar Skull ears, Flower and Garden ears for me (1st picture), and UP ears (2nd Picture)

I also got married during this time so our 2nd trip to Disney it was our first as a married couple!

Trip 2: May 2015 STARWARS weekend!
Resort:
Coronado 2 nights
This was a quiet resort! Very peaceful and serene. The food court wasn’t anything special but it served its purpose.

Food: Sci-Fi Galactic Breakfast, the rebel hanger and the Star Wars dinner at Hollywood and Vine.
These were so much fun. The food was good and there was tons of it but the real awesome part were the characters. I love character pictures!

Some first accomplished: This was our first trip to star wars weekends so everything was a first! It was also our first trip since we had gotten married! We saw all of the shows, took lots of character pictures, saw the parade and the fireworks!

I made 3 sets of ears for this trip, R2D2, Chewbacca, and boba fett

Trip 3: September 2015

Resort: Port Orleans French Quarter (my new favorite!)

Food: Lots and Lots of Food and Wine and candy. We came home with a ton of Candy and manged to get though 19 booths at food and Wine. We also tried Kona Café for breakfast on our last day. Tonga toast for the WIN!

Some first accomplished: We did the Keys to the kingdom tour. I would recommend this to any Disney lover. It only made me love Disney more!
Not as many first for me on this trip but my husband had never been to food and Wine of MNSSHP. Both of these events were awesome! We split food and wine into lunch one day and dinner the next, lines were long but food was great. MNSSHP we got rained out a bit but it was still great, lots of character pictures and candy!

Oh, those Dia de los Muertos ears that you made for your mother - heavens, all the ears - just FAB! :)

Do you use a template for the "ear bits" and then attach them to an Alice band? Will you share your secret? I'm all "ears"... :cautious:

Looking forward to the rest of the year...already feeling inspired (my DS would never wear Mickey ears, but Chewbacca ears...maybe)!
