A Twist In Time

Well, I suck as a player. I don't want to come back as a team member because I'll just drag everyone down. Seriously, beat out by a half a point? That REALLY sucks on my end. :( :(

I'm a terrible Imagineer. None of my concepts ever made it off the ground except the Great Wall/Dragons ride for World Showcase. That was the one time I can say I actually designed something that was, you know..Good. No, I'm not going to participate in the team portion because whoever has me on their team is destined to fail. I'm sorry I wasted everyone's time by competing in this. :(
Tiki your kidding me right? :confused:

You are one of the best Imagineers on these boards, just because you didn't win doesn't mean your a crappy Imagineer. If there were the case then none of us would be here we would have all given up long ago. I've lost plenty of competitions, some of them literally because I forgot that I was even in said competition which. @IDInstitute has lost plenty of times in the past and @spacemt354 has lost plenty of times did they give up? No! And neither will you! Why? Because no matter what preconceived idea you have in your mind its FALSE. You are a great armchair imagineer, if you weren't then how the hell did you make it this far? How the hell is it possible for some who "sucks" you are in the top ten for the point rankings forum wide. Your number nine out of nearly 60 Imagineers you don't just magically get there by there dumb luck you are there because you are a good armchair Imagineer.

I can't change your decision, but I do hope that you realize that you are
A) a great armchair Imagineer
B) you would be a great addition to any team

Well even if I did get first this challenge, I still got eliminated. So tell me, what the hell was the POINT of me even doing that challenge to begin with if I was just going to be bumped out by half a point. Seems like something @tcool123 could have clarified...It seems to me like going into this challenge I literally had ZERO mathematical chance of actually making it to the finals, and that is just super frustrating to go out that way even if you got first place in the round you're eliminated in. :( :(
If IDI had gotten last or third you would still be in this so yeah...

Tiki look, not everything in life goes exactly the way you want.

Im not ashamed to say I was kinda ticked getting voted out of SYWTBAI...for actually contributing. Eh, how do you think that feels?:confused:

This isnt anything close to that and youre flipping out...you were a very good imagineer, who won two rounds, and just barely missed the cut.

If you have any issues with it, id discuss this with @tcool123 privately instead of doing it publically on his competition thread. i doubt he had any malicious intent or wanted to cause you distress. this is all an overreaction.

It just sucks that I gave it my all in the last project, got first place, and am STILL eliminated. Like, what the hell was I supossed to do? Gameplay wise I literally had NO chance outside of just hoping that IDI would come out with a bad project which of course I didn't want to do. It just stings that I was SOOO close to getting into the finals, and I even had the best project from this past round, and yet I'm still eliminated. That really, really sucks and hurts my feelings a bit. Like I said I feel like I had NO shot to actually survive this round because I knew IDI would be fighting for his life right alongside me.

But that's the game rules. You should have been aware of this before the round even started.

Tcool has no control over how good the projects are. Or how good the competition around you is.

If roles were reversed and you beat IDI by half a point, would this conversation be happening right now? My guess would be no.

Well I'm going to stop acting immature about this after my initial shock at the situation and give a big congrats to my fellow Know-It-All @IDInstitute for winning out at the end. Ironic that it comes down to the two of us yet again haha ;) Loosing by half a point is still a really bitter pill to swallow but I'll get over it.

If anyone actually WANTS me on their team then I'd be happy to do it I guess. I just don't know if anyone would since I'm not exactly the stand-out talent of this season...

I know I would, and I am sure that @spacemt354 and @IDInstitute want you on my/their team(s) as well. You did amazing, and I would be honored, but I do not know how the team placement will go.

Challenge 8 : Project Futuro
Winner Takes All Challenge

Welcome time travelers to the far off year of 2016. We are here at Future World, at the headquarters for Imaginers aka the Odyssey. I have gathered you three here today in preparation for the coming of Iger, Chapek, Weiss, and the board. They personally contacted me to gather the three best imagineers (besides Baxter and Rhode) the company had to offer, and let them go crazy with a project that would inject life into the empty shell that is Future World. They have given us till the end of November to have something ready for them, in order to meet the deadline each of you imagineers will be assigned two of the six pavilions that they have deemed need help. Those pavilions are :
- Spaceship Earth/Innoventions
- The Imagination Pavilion
- The Land Pavilion
- The Seas with Nemo and Friends
- The Universe of Energy*
- The Wonder of Life Pavilion*
* = theme may change to how you see fit, if you wish to change theme you will need to announce it here prior. However that is only if you don't have control over the two pavilions that theme may change. This so we don't have two pavilions of the same theme.

We also have five talented imagineers that are willing to help. However we may receive more imagineers, so in order to give everyone a fair chance
@MonorailRed
@Brer Robbie
@AimYourBrent
will be the only help the first week of the challenge, or until we receive a sixth imagineer whichever happens first.
The other two imagineers
@kmbmw777
@TheOriginalTiki
will be assigned at random, or to the team that needs it the most. If we receive a sixth imagineer we will under go a similar process that we went through with the first three imagineers.

What may be that process? Well simple the imagineer with the lowest total amount of points will pick first, followed by the middle imagineer, and finally the last imagineer. To counteract this the pavilions will be chosen one at a time starting with the top imagineer, then the middle, and then the last imagineer.

We will start by choosing the pavilions, each imagineer will choose one at a time. So space chooses one, then Magic, and finally IDI, this process is then looped again. Then IDI chooses a helper followed by Magic, and then space gets whoever is left. At the start of the second week the second wave of imagineers will be sent out.

This project is due on Tuesday 11/29 at 11:59 PM.

@spacemt354 pick your first pavilion.

I'd also like to extend a personal apology to @IDInstitute, @tcool123, and everyone else for the way I reacted. It was a roller coaster for me this past week to even get the project turned in and I got it in basically SECONDS before the deadline was up. Then the half a point thing really got to me. In the spirit of the game though, if I would have tried just a bit harder in a couple of the other challenges then it'd be a different story, and I'm sure no one else would react to the event in as hostile a way as I did.

Reflecting on it, I actually think the game format and the .5 difference is a really cool, dramatic way for me to go out. It's good storytelling from the point of the season's narrative. Yea it's a bit frustrating to get first place and still get eliminated, but how close it came down to makes it worth the effort it took to put that last project together. I truly apologize for not seeing that earlier.
