It's incredible. Needs mod support, track switching and co-op build mode, so it still feels like a beta, but it is by far the best theme park game ever made.

I wouldn't say that those features make it a beta game considering RCT3 only had one of those 3 things I don't think you will see co-op build for a long time because of the servers necessary. Track switching might happen.

That looks awesome Planet Coaster looks so fun, but alas seemingly no word on when it will be available for Mac.

Also, I'm confused. Is this the successor to RCT3? What happened to RCT World?

RCT World is the true Successor to the RCT franchise and is being developed by Atari's teams. Planet Coaster is the spiritual Successor to RCT3 developed by the same team that developed RCT3 Frontier.
