A Slightly Delayed Fall Trip Report

Hello, this is my first Disney World trip report on wdwmagic. I re-found these boards a few months back and have been reading trip reports and other information while looking forward to my October vacation. I learn a lot of great things and useful tips from everyone here. I am excited to relive my adventures with all of you! I am a little behind in posting this, but im hoping to have the whole report up soon as we are going back to Disney in about a month :)

I guess this is the part where I tell you a little bit about myself. I am 25 and have been going to Disney parks since before I was born (literally…lol). All of the trips I can actually remember though have been to Disney World. As a family we always try to figure out how many times we have been, but we lost track a while ago after hit 20. Given that, this trip was full of firsts for us. This marked the first time that we have gone to Disney in the Fall, that we have gone to the Food and Wine Festive as well as the first time that we have attended any of the special parties at Magic Kingdom (MNSSHP). This is also the first time that I am spending more than a day in Disney as a vegan; I know, I know what was I thinking booking my vacation during the food and wine festival. Well, at least I still got to drink the wine ;).

Traveling with me this time is my mother, my aunt and my sister (21). My sister is the only one willing to step in front of the camera however…lol.

This trip really started the day before we left. After a long day at work I was going directly from work to stay at my parent’s house for the night as we would be leaving early and they live closer to the train station. We spend the evening mostly double checking that we had packed everything that we would need and trying to get to sleep early…

Day 1 Part 1

Day 1 Part 1

The alarms started going off very early Friday morning. The first alarm went off at 3:30am though I was a little luckier and didn’t have to wake up until 3:45. The timeline had us in the car and on the road by 4:50 so that we could catch the 5am train. Of course things didn’t go exactly to plan and we were running a few minutes behind. Since we were cutting things so close with the train an extra 2 or 3 minutes can be a problem. Thank goodness we managed to make it there about 30 seconds before the train pulled in….you think I joke , let’s just say that is was a really good thing we bought out tickets a few days before.
We were leaving so early the train only took about 45 minutes which put us at the airport in plenty of time for our 7:45 flight.

Good thing we got there early though because wouldn’t you believe that 3 out of 4 of us got flagged at security and had to have our bags inspected. They kept thinking that they saw things in them. With my aunt, they were worried about the size of her shampoo (it was exactly 3 oz). My sister had a mirror in her bag and we learn that if it falls at the right angle it throws a reflection at the x-ray machine so they have to go through it. With mine they never did say but im guessing that it was a random selection as they didn’t go through it, they just swabbed with the thing that checks for chemicals and let me go. At least we know that they are paying attention ;)

Once we were finally through security we found our gate. We still had a half hour before our flight so off we went to find food. Everyone else ate at McDonalds (the usually fair) while I checked everywhere I could think of and couldn’t find anything to eat. Airports are not the most vegan friendly places and because of this I usually try to be prepared with my snacks. This time, however I just didn’t have time. Finally, I just bought some pretzels from one of the shops and called it breakfast.

Our flight took off on time and it was a fairly good flight. To save time since this trip was only going to be 4 days we only packed carry-ons. Once we were off the plane it was straight to pick up the rental car. Then we were on the road and on our way. Yay, we are in Florida…

Before we knew it we were seeing….

6468542611_ffe156d910.jpg

Only a short time later we were pulling into Old Key West. While the others had stayed here in the past, this would be my first time here. First impression, I really like the feel of the place but don’t know if I could stay here without a car as it is really big and spread out. While my mother went to check us in we amused ourselves in the gift shop and made our first purchase….sun screen. After some maneuvering my mom was able to get us a room that was ready in Turtle Pond. We were staying in a studio this trip and I would like to apologize as I didn’t get any pictures of the room. In Old Key West you get two beds in the room instead of a bed and a full out couch. This was really nice as my sister and I usually have the pull out. I did steal this room layout picture from google so you get the idea.

Looking forward to reading all about your Disney adventures!! :)

Love your sisters costume. I went as Alice as few years ago for Halloween and my Mom made my costume. It looked very similar to hers!

Day 1 Part 2

Once we were in the room we dropped our bags, did a quick change from airplane clothes to park clothes and we were off to Epcot. This trip we decided to drive to most of the parks to save time. As we were pulling into the parking lot I got my first glimpse of Spaceship Earth. I know that a lot of people get that feeling of being in Disney when they see the Castle for the first time, but for me it always comes with seeing Spaceship Earth as Epcot has always been my favorite park.

6468453349_f73fcc455f.jpg

Once we were through the turnstiles we split up my mother and my aunt had to go to guest relations to exchange our Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party vouchers for the actual tickets and my sister and I started to make our way to the Land Pavilion. My sister does not care for the food on offer at Sunshine Seasons, so we stopped at the Electric Umbrella to pick up a burger and fries for her. She also got the sugar free brownie and I believe she said it was just okay, but the burger was good. I should mention that the four up us were one the QS meal plan this trip. Once in the land my sister went to find a table and the rest of our group, I went to get us fast passes for later. It was a little after 12 then and the passes would be for 6:30 that evening.

Fast passes in hand it was time to find lunch. I had read on allears that the Tofu Noodle bowl contained dairy so I asked what I could get on the vegetarian plate that was also vegan. They didn’t have broccoli at that time so I was able to get tofu, white rice and stir fried Noodles. The veggies that they have (that also come in the noodle bowl) contain dairy so I wasn’t able to have those. Sunshine Seasons also has a section for special diet snacks so I was able to pick up some yummy Divvies chocolate chip cookies for desert…I love these cookies they are sooo good. The meal over all was really good and just what I needed before we started walking around the countries as I knew through my research that I couldn’t have any of the items on offer for the festival.

PS, not sure why but i was so excited to see that right in the walkway to the world showcase there was a big cranberry bog. I thought it was the best thing ever and decided i too wanted to have one someday and took what too many pictures of it. There was a guy working there who's sole job was to stand in the bog and answer questions.

6468318589_442681eec7.jpg

We started our first trip around the world via Mexico.

6468351067_338d4657b5.jpg

This was also my first stop of the trip. I wanted to try the Strawberry Lime Margarita on the rocks as it sounded good and I prefer my margaritas on the rocks rather than frozen (though ill drink them either way!)

6468319753_fd034d40cb.jpg

This was really yummy not too sweet and you could taste the tequila but it wasn’t overwhelming. I did run into a little problem as the first two cups they gave me had cracks in the bottom so they kept trying to find me a cup that didn’t have a hole. Someone must have dropped the stack. It was worth it though.

Our first time around we didn’t really get that much or look into the countries. We were just looking at the different booths and deciding what we would like to try. There was so much to choose from it was hard for all of us to narrow things down. My sister did stop at hops and barley in America for a Sam Adams.

6468320331_69447117e7.jpg

I forget which one it was this time around, but whichever it was I had a sip and it was good. While we were there my mom, sis and aunt got one of the lobster rolls to share. They really liked these and would eat a lot of them this trip.

6468320151_ff787cf2a0.jpg

After our first trip around the countries we were still a little full from lunch and decided to spend some time in future world and go back a little closer to dinner. We stopped some of the booths in the area that connects future world to world showcase. They have a really neat vendor there that makes all of the natural beauty products and soaps. My aunt picked up a few things and I got her card so that I can order some online once what I have runs out.

We also made a quick stop in mouse gears to see what they had on offer. As we were walking out a woman with her family stopped us and asked if we have ridden Soarin. The way she phrased it I thought that she was going to ask us a question about it, so I told her yes. She then said would you like to ride again and gave us four fast passes. Our first bit of Disney magic, we thanked her very much and continued on our way to Spaceship Earth as the fastpasses were for around 3:30.

Our feet were hurting a bit and we thought it was a good time to sit for 20 minutes. Off to Spaceship Earth we went.

6468322033_5f052e1be9.jpg

I have always liked this ride, but I confess I liked the previous ending with the children talking from different countries. Surprisingly, we selected a future that I hadn’t had before. We had a “green” house in the country and turns out I garden…who knew?

By now it was around 3:30 so it was almost time for our fastpasses so we started making our way back to the land. My mom and aunt don’t care for this ride so they got something to drink and waiting for me and my sister. The ride was good and our seats were in the first row in C. It was funny because we were on the end of the row and the first person next to me in B had to be on this ride for the first time. He was in his late forties I would guess but his reactions were priceless and genuine. Disney really does bring out the kid in all of us.

Edit: Since this trip and writing this report, i actual do garden. Seems our ride on SE was a bit of a prophecy. :)

Day 1 Part 3

Once we were finished with Soarin we started to make our way back to the World Showcase for Round 2. It was getting a little more crowded at this point, but it wasn’t so bad. We started in Canada this time. We made our way though Canada and the UK. The first stop was for me, I wanted to try the Pomegranate Kir from France. This was champagne with a bit of pomegranate syrup. This was so yummy. I took a sip and carried it with me to drink with dinner.

6481407045_81538ae839.jpg

For dinner I stopped in Morocco for the vegetarian platter. When you eat here you tell them that you would like the vegetarian platter, but you are vegan and don’t eat eggs or dairy and they will bring out the chef. The chef was very nice and selected all of the items that I could eat. I had hummus with special gluten free allergy bread (way better than the GF burger rolls) salad, tomato salad, beets, onions and falafel (I know there is some debate on it this is vegan, but he said it was fine). I know this sounds like an odd combination, but the idea is to combine the different flavors in different bites and it was soo yummy. Since I couldn’t have the dessert I was able to get two drinks. This was perfect as my mother wanted to get water as well. While I was inside the others went to the Morocco booth outside to get a few things to try. My sister had the kafta Pocket and they also shared the Chicken Roll I believe. It was gone before I made it to the table to its hard to say for sure…lol.

After Morocco we stopped in Japan to look around the shop.

6468453675_7eba9efdea.jpg

I used to live in Japan so I always enjoy looking at a lot of the things that they have there. I took a look around and though about what I would like to purchase later in the trip. Before we knew it we were back in America.

6468453479_cc85f94fa9.jpg

My mom and sister went for the lobster claw this time and aunt stayed with the lobster roll. My mother and sister both liked the lobster roll better than the claw. They said that you actually got more of the meat with the roll. My sister also got another Sam Adams, this time she got the cherry wheat. I liked that you got a really good cherry flavor from this one.

We sat to eat in the American Pavilion concert area as the Eat to the Beat 5:15 show was about to start. The band was Starship. I didn’t know any of the songs really, but my mother and aunt did. It was a pretty good show, although a few women that were sitting in the front must have had a little too much wine and not enough food at the festival because they were standing and cheering the whole time(and not in the fun we like this band so we are excited way) so much so that their behavior cause cast members to ask them to leave the theater. It was actually kinda funny.

After the show we continued on our journey and before long found ourselves in Germany.

I picked up a sample of the Riesling classic (this might have been my favorite wine of the festival) and joined the others in the shops. The caramel shop smelled sooo good. I really have to make some homemade vegan caramel treats one of these days. One of my favorite shops in the Germany Pavilion is the little Christmas Shoppe there. It is so nice and festive in there. I always want to buy a pickle for my Christmas Tree and never end up buying one (this trip included). For those unfamiliar with the German tradition, the idea is that once the tree is put up and decorated someone hides the pickle ornament in the tree. The first child to find the ornament gets a special gift or surprise. In all the years I looked for it my cousin always managed to find it before the rest of us…

While I was looking in here my aunt was shopping in the Glass Shoppe at the end. She saw an anklet she liked but was looking for one is a specific color scheme to match things she already has. The woman who makes them was there that day and said that she could make one special in any colors that she wanted. It was going to take about 20 minutes so we had some time to kill so we did some more shopping.

6468322635_aaa205d6b0.jpg

As we had been in the pavilion for a while now I had long finished my small bit of Riesling and my sister and I were looking around the wine shop. While we were there my sister pointed out this wine that is drunk in the Fall and around the holidays. They happened to have it available at the counter so we decided to get a glass to share. We didn’t realize when we ordered it that it would come hot. It makes sense considering it is a winter/Christmas wine, but we just didn’t think about it. Well, it came out really hot. It was about 10 plus minutes before either one of us could take a sip. Once it cooled down it was really good and I will definitely be picking up some to have in the house this holiday season.

While we were enjoying our wine my aunt was looking through the tiaras that they sell there. She decided to pick one up to wear to the Halloween Party on Sunday, because you know “Crowns never go out of style.”

At this point we were starting to get a little bit tired as we had been up so early that morning to fly down. So we decided to head back to the hotel around 7 with the thought to go spend some time in the hot tub before bed. Well, that didn’t exactly happen. By the time we got back in the room no one really have the energy to change and go swimming. We called it an early night and we in bed by 8:30.

Sorry everyone I know its been a while. Christmas time was crazy busy, but im back :)

Day 2

We had planned this day to be one of the earliest wake ups of this trip. Usually, we do not attend extra magic hours and pick other parks to go to, but I wanted to get up and go early into the Studios. This meant being in the park for the 8 am rope drop. Good thing we planned to be up early because that’s just what we did. And by early I mean early….my mother and aunt were up by 4:30 that morning and were wide awake. They decided to get up and start getting ready. I was up and out of bed a little after five. My sister is the only one who slept later. I took my time getting ready for the day, but my mom and aunt wanted breakfast. The waited around until a little before 7 and walked over to Olivia’s. They said that it was the usual breakfast food, but it was good and considering they were one of the first tables really fresh.

We took our time that morning and were walking though the turnstiles at 7:55…perfect timing. We found out this morning that they don’t do the rope drop show. I don’t know what it was because it that extra magic hours or if they just don’t have one here anymore. That would be a shame if true, because the Hollywood Studios rope drop was one of the ones that I really enjoyed.

At this point we all split up. My sister went to try to get on Rock’in Rollercoaster, I went to get the fast passes for Toy Story and my mom and aunt wanted to look for something in one of the shops. I went back to get the fast passes. I wasn’t too far back in the line and was able to get some for 9:20 that morning. Once my mom and aunt caught up with me (time was 8:10) we went to go try to stand in the stand by line while my sister was riding her rides (I don’t do rollercoaster). We started to try to find the end of the line. We were walking….and walking….and walking, we gave up once we saw that the line was backed up all the way past the backlot tour and starting going down where the streets of America are. No thank you.

We were debating on what to do while we waited for my sister. While walking towards the hat I saw that the characters were out so I decide we were going to get pictures. Donald and Daisy’s line was already cut off (so disappointing), but Piglet had just come out and had no line. I quickly steered us in his direction and got a good picture. I think this is the first time I have gotten a picture with Piglet outside of Crystal Palace.

6468323271_72bd770c19.jpg

Minnie was right next to him and the line was still open. I was so excited because I hadn’t seen Minnie in her Hollywood outfit before. She was so cute, she told me how much she liked my dress and I made she to tell her that pink was definitely her color.

6468323453_3bab44df44.jpg

By this time my sister was finish with her rides and called to meet up. We met her on Sunset Blvd, then made a stop in the villains store as my aunt wanted to trade some of her Vinalmations. While here they told her that she could also trade in the Gallery in the Animation building, so we headed back in that direction.

We tried to catch the 8:40 Little Mermaid show, but managed to miss it by less the two minutes. The next show wasn’t going to be for 45 minutes so needless to say we were not waiting around. We walked back to the Animation Building to trade and discovered that the store didn’t open until 9. We had about 15 minutes to kill. I amused myself by taking some pictures in the area and we explored the little princess shop that is near the Little Mermaid.

6468324061_818e75a1bb.jpg

We still had a bit more time so we went to see One Man’s Dream. There is just something about this movie that brings some of the Disney Magic to life. Once the open the store we went in to have a look around. I love looking at all of the Disney art in the galleries. “One day, One day” she says dreamily.

My aunt made her trades and my sister picked up two of her own. Task completed we headed back towards TSM to use our fast passes. The game was great fun as usual and I like the changes that they put in after TS3 came out. With a score of 145,700 I was declared the winner in the car. What was really nice is that we had ridden early in the day so that score actually seemed pretty good when you looked at the postings for the day. It’s always a bit discouraging to think you did so well and see 999,999 posted as the high score at the end of the ride.

6468325177_0d8f0584f4.jpg

One of the goals for the day was to ride Star Tours to see the new version. We figured that we’d better move in that direction as we were not sure how long the lines were going to stay short for it. It has been almost two years since I had been on this ride so I was excited. I really liked the changes that they made to the effects; though my mother and aunt were happy they sat this one out as the ride really does throw you around a lot. The ride itself does feel a lot shorter to me. This may just be the way that I am remembering it, but I feel like I barely sat down and it was over.

6468325569_51c2d574fb.jpg

We wanted to see the Indiana Jones show as this was something that we haven’t seen in years (at least 4), but it didn’t start until 11:30. We were trying to think of something to do when I remembered that a cast member had told us earlier that Mickey and some other characters would be in the animation building after 10. Decision made, time for some more character pics. The line had been open for a bit so we wanted in line for about 15 minutes. Another first, Sorcerer Mickey. The Winnie the Pooh characters were there too, but we had to make a choice as we wouldn’t have made it in time to see the show. The picture didn’t come out too well so we are going to try again in January.

6468326449_173c5fd45f.jpg

After saying good bye to Mickey we headed across to park to see how action movies are made. The show was really funny and well thought out. I like the addition of the members of the audience. I am glad we made time to see it this trip.

Day 2 Part 2

By this point we were hungry and we are not really that impressed with HS food options. We decided that we would go to DTD and get lunch there. I was really excited about this as this meant I could stop at Babycakes!!!!

6468329303_3371c06cd6.jpg

Once we got there we split up, I went to Babycakes and the others went to Wolfgang Puck Express. Though the Babycakes here is small I still managed to have trouble deciding what to get. In the end, I went for the pumpkin cupcake with cinnamon butter cream….sooo good and exactly what I was looking for. The cinnamon butter cream was really what put it over the top. I never thought to use cinnamon in the frosting when I bake (I usually just use it in the batter), I have tried it once since and everyone loved it.
After purchasing my cupcake I took it with me to eat with my family. Is it just me or did the stretch out the Marketplace, it seem like so much further than I remembered…lol. Once I got there they were still waiting on their food. My aunt got the pizza, four cheese I think, my mom got the spaghetti and meatballs and my sister got chicken tenders and regular fries. Everyone really enjoyed their food, but as always the portions as too large and they all left a lot behind.

Happily fed we did a bit of walking around and shopping, but not too much as we knew that we would be here the next morning.

6468328629_2814a26eca.jpg

At around 3 we started making our way back to the resort for a quick rest before our night.

Day 2 Part 3

Before long it was time to get going again…Off to Epcot. This was a Saturday night, so by the time that we got there the parking lots were really getting full and we had to use the tram to get to the front of the park. Luckily, there was one there as we were parking and we got right on. We were the last stop so it took us straight to the entrance.

6468327415_f991587c9a.jpg

We started out journey through the showcase heading for Mexico. I made a stop before we got there at Argentina for some wine. It was just ok.

Seeing the lines and guessing that the ones in America were going to be just as bad. My aunt and sister went to get in line and my mother waited for me. It was definitely crowded that night. We got stopped for a few minutes at the bridge as they were still getting the barges out for illuminations. This was alright as it gave me time to stop and enjoy my sip of wine. Once they gave the all clear it was like the running of the bulls as the backed up line of people pushed forward. I was interesting, that’s for sure. We kept going and eventually found the others, they still had a bit of a wait to we joined them in line. I wasn’t going to get anything, but then I remembered that I wanted to try the Oktoberfest. My mom, aunt and sister got three of the lobster rolls to share.

By this point my mother and aunt had had enough of the crowds and decided that they were going to head out. This was fine as my sister and I would just take the bus home. After we said our good-byes we continued our way through the countries. I stopped once again in Morocco to get a modified veg platter. My sister went to the booth and got the same thing as she had before, the Kefta. She really likes it and was excited to see that it was actually an option for a meal inside as well. I have a feeling that she will have no problem coming here with me on our next trip.
My sister and I spent the next little while sampling drinks from the various different booths. Including one really good one (maybe the best one we tried) from the craft beers booth, Leinenkugel berry weiss.
Along the way we ran into Aurora with no line at all, so i just had to stop for a quick chat.

6468327843_5a79133cd7.jpg

After we decided that we had probably had enough to drink (those little cups start to catch up with you after a while…lol) we made our way back to future world and wanted to go play in innoventions for a while. We were very disappointed when we got there and were reminded that they close at 7 (it was like 7:05) soooo sad.

Since we were in the area we made our way to test track. We started to go in the single rider line but quickly realized that it was longer than the regular line so we switched (no worries we didn’t cut anyone off…we checked). I love test track at night, it is my favorite time to ride this one. We had a great car, an awesome ride and didn’t even get a ticket for DUI. All in all it was a success, all the effects were even working (strange…I know).

By this point it was getting close to Illuminations so we didn’t have time to do anything major. We realized that we were a little hungry so we stopped in the Electric Umbrella to get a side of fries. We enjoyed being able to sit for awhile as our feet were really hurting at this point. With just a few minutes to go we made our way back to the middle, but didn’t walk that far. We watched the show and then made our exit.

Sunday Day 3

We let ourselves sleep in this morning, but being us we were still up relatively early at around 7:30. We were all ready and out the door by 9. This was our DTD morning.

After seeing my really yummy cupcake from the day before, we decided to get breakfast at Babycakes. I had the chocolate dipped doughnut. OMG, best doughnut I have ever had (and please remember I wasn’t always I vegan). My aunt got the chocolate cookie sandwich (hey, we’re on vacation) this was vanilla frosting between two chocolate chip cookies. She said it was good, but the cookies here are one the crunchy side and she prefers soft cookies. My sister had the chocolate chip bread, she really enjoyed it. This breakfast was perfect as we knew that we would be eating lunch early.

Quick Review on Babycakes. I love this place as everything is so delicious, however, it is expensive for the price. Outside of the meal plan I am not sure if I would get anything other than a cupcake here.

Our next stop was the World of Disney where I picked up an Alice and Wonderland tea mug (I am a really big tea drinker) and a Mickey Mouse ice cube tray. I only had one at home and that really isn’t enough ice. We did some more shopping and I bought a Mickey colander that I had been looking at for a while. Before we knew it, it was time for lunch. This time I joined the family at WPE. They were able to make be a pizza with red sauce and veggies. It was really good and they put a lot of veggies on it. Thank goodness none of them were mushrooms as I forgot to request it without and wasn’t looking forward to picking them off.

We hit a few more store including Ghirardelli’s, the chocolate was a no go but I was able to pick up some hot chocolate mix to use this winter. Around 1 we decided to go back to the hotel so that we had enough time to get ready for the party.

Day 3 Part 2

We took our time, of course my mother an aunt were ready way ahead of us so they left to look around the monorail resorts before we were allowed into the park at 4. My sister and I left around 3:30 and got a few interesting looks as we rode the bus. We did stop to take a few pictures in front the resort first.

6468329789_1b6d589cc3.jpg

We got to Magic Kingdom a little before my mom and aunt so we hung out and took pictures while we waited.

6468332559_767b8e511c.jpg

We had a bit of a strategy that was a little ambitious, but having it really was helpful throughout the night. We went to eat first. We wanted to go to CHH, I had talked it up and everyone was really looking forward to it. Wouldn’t you believe it, they were closing the doors just as we were walking up and said that they were closing at five due to the party. This was a major disappointment for us and we had to stop and re-evaluate our options. We decided on Pecos Bills.

As a vegan, eating at some of the counter service places can be a process. While I truly appreciate all of Disney’s efforts to handle special diets, it does take a lot longer. I ordered my meal through a manager who had me check the ingredients in the book. Then they cook the veggie burgers in a different part of the kitchen and only the manager is allowed to handle your food and give it to you. None of the rest of the staff is allowed to be involved at all. The process meant that dinner took a lot longer than we had budgeted. Soooo not complaining and Disney’s attention to detail and consideration is one of the reasons why I vacation here. I just want to let everyone who has an allergy or special diet know to give yourselves more time for meals.
Next it was time for the Jungle Cruise; we had managed to pick up some fast passes on our way to dinner. The ride was funny as usually, though I do miss when the drivers were allowed to go off book.

One thing we wanted to fit in before the party was the fairies. I wanted to get pictures as I was dressed like one, but didn’t want to waste any time during the party because the fairies don’t have anything special for it. I was a little disappointed that there were only two fairies there, Tink and Terrence.

Realizing that 7 pm was fast approaching we made our way to get in line for the 7 dwarfs (Snow White was not with them). The line took forever. We waited for them for almost an hr. While waiting in line though we took turns trick-or-treating. The trail was right there so it was very convenient.

The one ride that we really wanted to do during the party was the Haunted Mansion, so we headed in that direction. We of course stopped at the Trick-or treat stations along the way. The line was nearly walk on and we had a very spooky ride. Once the ride was done we got our pictures taken with the haunted carriage. It came out really cute.

My sister was dressed as Alice and we really wanted to get her pictures with the Wonderland characters so after HM we made our way to Fantasyland. Throughout the night we stopped at nearly all of the candy stations that we passed. We got our pictures taken with the Mad Hatter

And went for a ride on the tea cups. There is just something about spinning round and round that never gets old.

Sleeping Beauty and her Prince were waiting for us when we got off so we hopped in line for of pictures. We had a nice conversation and they asked all about how Pinocchio was doing.

At this point we were almost in Tomorrowland and wanted to stop by Monsters, Inc to see if it would be funnier with everyone in costumes. This was the worst show we had ever seen. They started it really late and left us all in the holding room for way longer than normal, then once we were all in and the show started it seemed like the just threw someone in front of the mic as it seemed like the monsters were all just making it up as they were going along (and not in the funny way). Most of the theater got up and walked out because they delayed things so much that we were going to miss the Fireworks. We all ran out and were able to watch the show from the bridge to Tomorrowland. The fireworks were good, but a lot of ppl said that they were the best ones they had seen. I was underwhelmed. I liked the summer nightastic better…I miss that one.

Once they were done we found a spot for the villains show. It was shorter than I was expecting, but I really liked it. Once it was over my sister and I split up. She went to find Maleficent and I went to the Evil Queen.

Parade time!!!!!!!!! Okay, so I know a lot of ppl love this parade, but once again I was underwhelmed. The headless horseman was cool and I liked how they gave out candy during the parade. The best part for us actually was that they had the characters walking around freely through the crowd during it. Gaston stood just behind a family while watching the parade and kept making funny comments like “Why are all of these people watching this, when they can look at me” and the step sisters were there too (they were very disappointed to have just missed Gaston). They kept trying to get the attention of all the male character in the parade and let them know that both of them were still available. It was hilarious.

It was getting late by this point so my mother an aunt decided to call it a night. There were still some character pictures that we wanted to get so me and my sister stayed. We saw the villains show one more time and this time we both got pictures with the Queen of Hearts.

I really wanted to get a picture with Gaston, but first we stopped for a chat with the stepsisters and Lady Tremaine. They were crazy funny as the always are. I really like that they spend a lot of time with people and have a real conversation. Each experience with them is always different, even if it is the same people in the roles

Then lastly it was pictures with Gaston.

By this time we were pretty much out of energy so we called it a night just before Midnight (we don’t like to cut is as close as Cinderella).

Day 4 Part 1

As per usual for us we did not sleep in that late this morning and we had some time to kill before heading to Magic Kingdom. We decided to go over to POP to see what we could find for breakfast. I was excited to be able to get the Mickey waffles made vegan. I had had them once before at Animal Kingdom Lodge and there were really good. Well, maybe just the timing was off because they were not very good this time. I have a feeling it was because the Chef was trying to make my vegan order and another girl’s gluten free order at the same time. The batter is the same, but what goes with is different. They seemed to be undercooked as they were gummy inside.

Once we were done we dropped off the car back at the resort and hopped a bus for Magic Kingdom. We decided to go back to MK and skip AK as we wanted to do a few rides that we passed on during the party.

This time we started in Tomorrowland. We rode Buzz and I got one of my highest scores yet. I was pretty proud of myself, though I know that my scores cannot even compete with more ppls here.

My aunt suggested that we go on the Indy car as there was no line and usually we don’t do as the line is always really long and it isn’t worth it. It was actually really fun/funny. I think not waiting in the hot sun for an hr really makes a difference on how you experience some of the outside rides.

Once we were done with our drive we continued our walk towards fantasyland. No trip for us is complete without a ride on Small World. I know that there is a split of opinions on this one but I love. That said I won’t do it more than once per trip. That song is really hard to get out of you head.

Then it was time for Philharmagic. This is my favorite 3D show at Disney. I love the way Disney really tries to bring in all of your senses to create a great and new experience.

By this point it was getting close to lunch so we started to make our way to CCH determined to be able to eat here this time. We were successful! I was able to get the lighthouse sandwich without the broccoli as it contains dairy. My sandwich came with a side of chips. This was very yummy as it always is. The bread is always fresh and the tomato and hummus combination is perfect. My mother and sister got the fried fish and shrimp and my aunt got the lobster roll. She said she preferred the ones that they got in Epcot at the festival better as there was too much mayo and other stuff in the roll here, but it wasn’t bad.
