A Sensitive Topic...

Without calling attention to it, do you think your cousin would be more comfortable in a "bed" of his own? I'm quoting "bed" because you could always pack an air mattress and lay it on the floor, make it up as if it's his very own bed. I know the rooms at VAK are usually a queen bed plus a sofa bed, but you could also just move the table to the side and lie the air mattress parallel to the sofa. And having an air mattress, you could move it from room to room, in case one day he'd rather be with Grandma, or one night you might want to go to a lounge or enjoy EMH, etc.

You know your cousin better than any of us. I don't know if this will make him more self conscious (oh man my cousin knows and he doesn't want to share the bed with me because he thinks I'll wet it)...or perhaps he'll be relieved (if I make a mess at least it won't affect anyone else!). It'll probably be easier to strip and then wash down an air mattress than it would be a whole bed (also, just in case he rolls over and misses any sort of padding you've added to his side of the bed or on the sofa bed). Just a thought. Not necessarily a good one. And if he's OK with wearing pull-ups, it might be a moot point,

Also a not-necessarily-a-good-idea idea - not sure when you'll be going to WDW, how hot it would be. On the one hand, yes, limiting juice or any other fluids during and after dinner would be helpful. But if it's summer and excessively hot and humid, you don't want to risk dehydrating him either. either way, not to be ominous, but because a WDW trip can be so exhausting, accidents might be more prone because he'll be too exhausted to know he needs to go.

One other idea, not so great for you - if your cousin goes to sleep before you do, you can always wake him up before you go to bed just to let him go to the bathroom. And without being too loud about it, reinforce a good-job message if he does get up and manage to go. If you go to sleep around the same time, maybe set up a second alarm after a few hours to get him up.

Last year we arrived at our resort around 10 AM and luckily our room was ready. We had just driven 16 hours straight through so while my husband took a nap I took my older two to the pool. After the pool my 4 year old daughter was tired and fell asleep. She had an accident during her nap. We didn't notice until we woke her up from the nap to get ready for dinner. We called mousekeeping around 6PM. He gentleman that came was very nice and quickly changed the sheets. We gave him $2 dollar tip for his trouble to come out and we left for dinner. We came back and the bed was made and he had left a weeks supply of mickey soap/shampoo for us. I keep all that stuff so right into my luggage it went.

So long story short, it happens and mousekeeping is very understanding. They do have heavy mattress protectors already on the beds, they are not water proof but I think my 4 year old would be very uncomfortable sleeping on a plastics tarp that crinkled all night. She also tosses to much for something small like a puppy pad. She does still wear pullups at night, but not during naps (if she takes a nap). Let him decide if he is okay wearing a pullup, some kids who don't wear them may feel that wearing a pullup is "babyish". As Mousekeeping to leave an extra set of sheets and wing it. Make sure you have time to do laundry if there is an accident. Those clothes will stink otherwise.
Have a great time and by not making a big deal of an accident your cousin won't remember those small time compared to all the fun you will have.

My older nephew still has bedwetting issues but he doesn't let it stop him from doing things. If he goes to a friend's house or camp, he just brings pull ups and discreetly uses them. If the sheets do happen to get wet, I would just take them off of the bed to make it obvious that they need to be changed. I don't think it will end up being a big deal at all for you.
