A Quoting Question

Just wondering, how do you quote certain parts of a post without posting the whole thing? I am not exactly new to forum posting, but I'm just wondering how you do it.

Also, how do you quote stuff that is not in this specific thread, but from another, and how do you quote stuff like:

Borrowing someone sig for a sec:

Family Guy Quote:
--------------------------------------------------

And it actually is a quote. How do you do that?

Highlight the text you don't want Making sure you keep QUOTE and /QUOTE

Press Delete

I think you might have been talking about how I put my Family Guy quote in my sig.

Like this:

[I]Family Guy[/I] quote:
[QUOTE]Peter: Don't worry Chris. Sometimes it's good not to fit in. (Flashback to Vietnam)
Peter (dressed in a clown suit): You guys are stupid. They're gonna be looking for army people.    [/QUOTE]

Which will come out like this:

Family Guy quote:

Peter: Don't worry Chris. Sometimes it's good not to fit in. (Flashback to Vietnam)
Peter (dressed in a clown suit): You guys are stupid. They're gonna be looking for army people.

If I wanted to quote you, I'd type the following (without any spaces in the brackets):

tag preceding it.
