Ok, this is something I wouldnt mind doing but I have a concern. My g/f can swim which isnt a problem. But I cant swim at all! When u take part in the dolphin swim, cant people who cant swim still do this? Is there a shallow section for people like me?:) Thanks

Jay don't let the fact that you can't swim put you off at all, the trainners are really good and bring your Dolphin right up close to you, my little guy is about 44inches and he was ok, you only have to go into the deep section if you want to. The best part of the whole experience is getting a ride on the Dolphin, you don't have to be able to swim, just hold on tight, I'm sure you will be able to do that, they do give you really good floatation jackets. Go for it Jay I promise you won't regret it and I can grantee you'll want to do it again. The whole day not just the Dolphin swim is awesome:sohappy: :sohappy:

Jay I'm so glad you asked DC was my favourite day this time in Orlando so I'm happy to tell you all the boring little details.:animwink: On arrival you check in as you would for a hotel reservation, here they confirm the time of your Dolphin interaction and take your photograph, from this they make your personal ID which can be a charge card for the day and is also your seven day pass to SeaWorld, you are then given a tube of Dolphin Friendly Suntan lotion and escorted with a guide through the park. On the way to towel and snorkel stall you have your complimentary photograph taken which you collect later in the day. At the towel stall you are given a towel, a snorkel,a mask and flippers to use throughout the day, you get to keep the snorkel. You are then shown to the locker rooms, where you obtain a floatation jacket. You are then escorted to the lagoon areas where you chose a sunbed of your choice and set up for a day of leisure. During the day you can snorkel with the sting rays and baby sharks (the water isn't that deep and the floatation jackets keep up even the non swimmer), go into the tropical avairy or just relax in the lazy river.
Your ID gives you access to the restaurant where you are provided with a 3 course meal as good as any I had on our three week stay, this is included in the price. During the day their are poolside bars serving a variety of alcoholic and nonalcoholic cocktails, beers etc.

Sounds terrific....especially the bar part!! ;)
One question...are the life jackets optional or required? Do you have to wear them if you're not with the dolphins? I'm not sure I could snorkel very well wearing a life jacket.

Jay then comes the best bit. I told you it was wonderful didn't I:animwink:
The Dolphin Interaction: you are given a time to attend ours was booked between 10-12 and on the day we where asked to attend at 10.30am. There where seven people in our party two of whom where young children and one lady who could not swim. The first 20 minutes is spent talking about the Dolphins and watching a special film and then you get to spend about 40-50 minutes with your group, your Dolphin trainner and the star Dolphin, during this time a professional photographer takes some wonderful shots you can later buy and they also do some videoing. The whole experience was wonderful you get to touch, stroke, ride and even kiss the Dolphin. Of course the more adventurous you are the more they let you do but every one gets there fair share of time.
The Beast didn't fancy swimming with the Dolphins, nor did one of our kids and one was too young, so they watched, took video and photos. Suprisingly DC was also their favourite day and one which we will remember for ever, next time we go to Orlando my four guys will all swim and I think I'm going to Video it all.
We bought some superb photos 5 for @ $90, but to us they are worth a million bucks. Go for it Jay you won't be sorry, in fact I'm so sure you'll be as overwhelmed as me I'll give you the money back if you don't enjoy it:animwink:

Marcia, the jackets are more like vests very light weight and come in about 20 sizes so they are not restricting in any way. I think you did have to wear them in the water, but you where allowed to remove them to sun bathe:animwink:

Wow! It sounds great indeed! It sounds like the experience you get when visiting some places in the Mayan Riviera like Xel-ha and Puerto Aventuras.
So.... with your ticket for DC, you get a 7 day pass to SeaWorld?? Sounds like a good deal to me. How much does the entrance to DC cove costs?

In August it was $199 for a Dolphin Interaction Day and $89 for a day without the Dolphin, plus taxes under 3's where free and children under 7 where not allowed to swim with the Dolphins.

Do you guys think I could work as one of their Reps:animwink:

This included the 7 day pass to Seaworld.

JAY!! Infact anyone!!

Don't ask, just book it. We did it last year, and are about to book for next year too. I agree with Beauty, it was probably the best day of our holiday last July.
