A Prettier MGM?

I forget where I read this, but I heard something somewhere that they were going to change the soundstages at Disney-MGM Studios? It seems like they were going to have the same style as Walt Disney Studios Paris (And I love the look of their soundstages.) So is this true or just rumor? Or maybe I dreamed it all up?

Well.. every so often someone at WDI thinks of a new way to make the park look.... (and every so often they have to repaint and sometimes remodel... so since the MGM contract is almost up.... they might be considdering doing that to make the two Walt disney Studios more alike??

who knows... any idea when they might begin removing many of the MGM references and possible replacing them with even more disney references...

Sound stages etc

Hey,

That's all DLP's Studio's have got going for it at the moment, that the designing is muchly based upon the original Walt Disney Bros Studio lot, with the architecture etc...

WDW studios are rumored to get DLP WDS's Cinemagique. I know, a rumour!!! If it does, its going to need a big auditorium. It truely is an amazing film (and effect) show and because of its popularity will need something huge to meet capacity. So this could mean the building of a sound stage akin to the design of DLPs. There are 3 in Paris, the centre one (1) is the covered hollywood street set (I say set, street and Hollywood in the loosest fashion), then the two either side, number 2 and 3 house the Cinemagique (which I would love to see in WDW) and Animagique (which will never make it out of those studios in Paris - very poor in comparrison and really just for the small kids).

Have a good weekend!

I think this may happen...based on what they have done to the show building that the ride portion of Rock'n'Rollercoaster sits in. They have just added an arched top to that building... I will try to get a photo of it and post it up

That was only done to hide the installation of cell phone equiptment on the roof.

but it was done in the creative way to make the show building somewhat match a soundstage.... to fit in better with the suroundings..... (didn't it actually have something on the side that had a number??)

RRnC building does have a number on the outside of the building, don't remember what the heck it is though. But most of the buildings on that side of the studios do to make them look like a real soundstage.

Trust me, you dont want any design "features" from the studios at Paris. There are only a couple of buildings in the front lot that have any architectual appeal to them. I would imagine that WDI would try to steer as far away from the vast majority of WDS as possible.

Just for your comparison, here is a photo I took of the Paris RNR. Perhaps the worst exterior of any Disney attraction worldwide? It has to be a contender.

No, I definately wouldn't want our RnRC to look like that... I thought they were making the building have the same architecutre as the front soundstages, though? If that is the case, I'd like that.... That entrance architecture is all the park has going for it.
