Pre-Trip A Newbie and an Old hat!

Hey guys! This is my first pre-trip report.

The Cast:

Myself - Courtney, 20 years old university student and disney crazy! This will be my 7th Florida Disney trip but my 12th trip to Disney including paris, Hong Kong and Florida! All my friends think i’m a nutter but my heart well and truly belongs to The World!

My boyfriend of 4 years- Jack, also 20 years old and a tree surgeon, this will be Jacks first trip to Disney EVER! This fact outrages me! It took some persuasion to get my boyfriend to agree to this trip, although he likes disney movies he prefers adventurous holidays like surfing, skiing, kayaking etc.

Cameo appearances:

My friend from university and her boyfriend are also making a trip to the world on the exact same dates, on the same flight and at the same hotel! How crazy is that! So no doubt we will see them a couple of times throughout our trip.

Emily & Alex - Both will be 21 at time of trip.

Where: Well as I stated earlier I am a university student, I don’t take a student loan therefore I work part time as a duty manager at a ski centre therefore we couldn’t afford to stay in an expensive disney hotel so we settled for Disney’s All Star Sports. Quite fitting as Jack is a bit of a sports fanatic! We had to stay in a disney resort for the free shuttle service to the parks as it would be too expensive for insurance to drive in USA.

When: August the 28th till September the 11th. We will be flying from Gatwick airport into Sanford airport and then getting a transfer from Sanford to the hotel.

As I said before this will be my first trip without my family and therefore my first trip without a car! In all previous trips we have had a rental car as we like to go to international drive for dinner and also like to spend some of our time at the premium outlets! (I’m a bit of a shopaholic.) My boyfriend and I plan to have dinner on international drive a couple of nights and also go to the outlets! We will be doing this via lynx busses, i-trolley and taxis! So wish us luck!

Advance reservations booked:

August 31st- Dinner at Sci-fi dine in at 8.20pm.

September 4th- Character breakfast at Chef Mickeys 9.20am.

September 10th- Our final Dinner at Boma at 7.20pm.

No further plans are set in stone yet! Will keep you guys updated!

You arrive two days after we leave.

Did you get the free Dining Plan with your booking ?

Keep us posted on your plans

We didn't get the free dining plan because you had to stay in a more expensive :greedy: disney hotel, we did umm and arr about it, but jack didn't want to be tied to just eating in disney. He hasn't ever been to america before so he wants to got out of the disney bubble to experience the USA as as well!

Where are you staying ? :hilarious:

Hope your boyfriend ends up loving WDW as much as you! I know my first time going to Disney was with my now husband, he was already obsessed, and after that first trip so was I!

We took a trip to disney our last year of college and stayed at the value resort "all star movies"... honestly it is Disney and even the value resorts are wonderful. Always clean, good space and fun décor!

We will be there for our "late" honeymoon at the same time as you, should be low crowds and super hot (which is my favorite!). Hope you guys have a great time and happy planning!!

Congrats on your quickly approaching, very long trip! Sounds like you have a nice plan set up so far. I stayed at All Star Music when it was only a few months old and it was one of my favorite trips ever. You will have a blast at All Star Sports. And Boma is one of our favorite dinners at Disney. Have fun!

Job well done on the cake, it looks like some thing that you would find in a Disney bakery. How did you sister like it?

Booked another advance reservation today for lunch at the Rainforest Cafe at animal kingdom on september the 7th.

My boyfriend and I were thinking about creating a kind of bucket list of new things that I haven't experienced or had yet. I thought of a few ideas already...

1. Try a Turkey Leg.
2. Have a dole whip (everyone on here talks about them and I've never had one!)
3. Get a Mickey balloon.
4. Pick a pearl at the japan pavilion (My sister has done this but I haven't)
5. Try a Butterbeer in Harry potter world.

Obviously you guys don't know what i have and haven't done but any suggestions on what would be on your must do disney list would be great!

Take the boat to one of your destinations.. It's something fun and different, not to mention relaxing in a place where you're constantly on the move. :)
